An old video clip featuring conservative influencer Charlie Kirk praising Candace Owens has resurfaced online. The reaction of netizens and enthusiasts to it has been notable.

According to Grok, the viral clip was taken from Turning Point USA's Young Women's Leadership Summit in Dallas, Texas, on June 14, 2025. It shows Charlie Kirk applauding Candace Owens for her alleged willingness to challenge mainstream narratives. Today, in a controversial situation involving Candace Owens and Charlie Kirk's widow, Erika Kirk, those remarks have taken on a new life.

In the viral clip, Charlie Kirk was heard saying:

"I just want to say this before we get to some questions. You know how rare it is for someone with Candace's platform to actually talk about these issues one after the other? You see the corporate media, they want people like Candace just to say the same thing over and over again, right? Dr. Fauci, may his sainthood forever be a blessing or whatever you're supposed to say, right?"

He also added:

"George Floyd, thank you for what you have done for us or whatever, right? Zelensky is the new church or whatever ridiculous thing that they're trying to say, right? Which is what they are saying, right? Instead, Candace is like, you know what, no, I have this platform and I'm going to say things that are true and I don't care what you say back to me. And you don't see that at all, actually. In fact, that sort of courage is very, very rare in America and it deserves to be applauded, truly. It's really special."

Candace Owens also reposted the clip via her official X (formerly Twitter) page, captioning:

"Nice try, but I actually AGREE with Megyn that it would unusual for the FBI to send us updates. She is being sensible. You and many others are trying (and failing) to conflate people having two eyes and asking Turning Point USA questions about why they told pointed LIES about various things, with the pending court case. Turning Point leadership is NOT the FBI and the public has every right to note their various lies and inconsistencies regarding what took place on 9/10."

Candace Owens also added:

"It’s also our right NOT to believe the FBI thus far. To help you comprehend this using your preferred BLM analogy; it was perfectly fine to question the BLM organization about their finances and corrupt leadership while believing the case against Derek Chauvin was corrupt, without expecting the Minnesota DOJ to open up their George Floyd case file. We can walk and chew gum, Allie."

Netizens reacted to the old clip, saying:

"Worst mistake he ever made, being loyal to you. In the end you still betrayed him."

Internet reactions to Charlie Kirk praising Candace Owens' "very rare" courage in a resurfaced old clip

Multiple X (formerly Twitter) posted their opinions regarding the resurfaced old clip, which showed Charlie Kirk praising Candace Owens. Below are some of their reactions:

"It has been well documented that you two had a falling out and that before his death, you were not speaking or close. There is zero percent chance he would be proud of the fact that you have used his death, which could have been a moment to unite, as an opportunity for your own shameless self promotion, and to divide. The good news is that this rhetoric has an expiration date, it is simply unsustainable. May the energy continue to shift.", stated an X user.
"Candace Owens is not exposing truth she’s rewriting history to hide the fact that Charlie cut her off, and she’s burning down everyone he loved to make herself the center of his legacy. She Needed to Rewrite the Break‑Up He unfollowed her in August 2025, But there was friction between them long before that. The NY Post exposed the truth: Charlie pulled away from her. He unfollowed her while alive. He distanced himself because of her “rabbit holes. That is humiliating for someone whose brand depends on being “the one who sees clearly. Motive: Flip the story so she becomes the betrayed truth‑teller, not the person Charlie cut off.", commented another.
"I'm sure he would not have wanted her to cause distress for his grieving wife. Absolutely nothing wrong in questioning things if it does not feel right.... but do your investigations privately then come back to reveal your findings. Not doing this each day hurting a grieving widow.", penned a third.

Others also chimed in:

"And THIS is why Erika Kirk did not like Candace Owens. Even though their feelings were familial, Erika was threatened by Candace. Jealous of their kinship and Candace’s potential influence on Charlie. The way Charlie respected her. Would Erika ever live up? Will she live up to it now through transparency and truth about the things surrounding Charlie’s assassination? Or will she continue to let him down?", shared a netizen.
"We know. Those who have followed you guys for years saw your epic connection and amazing friendship. You guys grew up together in a way and it was so beautiful to watch . You made an unstoppable team. Both of you pure hearted and light beings. I appreciate your commitment and your heart's desire to stand up for truth. We are Charlie. Praying for you. Loved seeing you with Jimmy Dore! I have not watched your podcasts today yet but I did watch this.OMG!", wrote another.
"I am sticking to, Candace Owens is right no matter who or what every one else is saying because she is right to ask those questions and deserves answers. Maybe the DOJ has reason to withhold some information until the trial starts but if her questions are not addressed during the trial there will always be gaping holes in the story of Charlie Kirk's death that will fuel truth seekers and conspiracy theories forever. I know an argument can be made that tainting a jury pool is bad but it's also true that giving a juror to little information is also bad. We want to trust jurors not coddle them or prevent them from evaluating all aspects or theories of a crime. Maybe we should devise a method so that a 'jury of our peers' is not a jury of NPC's?", penned a third.

Candace Owens and Charlie Kirk were once colleagues at Turning Point USA. Owens had previously described their relationship as being like "brother and sister." After Kirk was shot and killed on September 10, 2025, during an event at Utah Valley University, Candace Owens initially posted tributes praising him.
