Malik Taylor, a popular social media influencer, passed away recently. According to TMZ's report, the police in Concord, North Carolina, say his SUV left the roadway and fell roughly 20 feet, and he died at the scene. The coroner says his death was due to blunt force injuries. The police say there is no suspicion of foul play and are still investigating the cause of the crash.

His fraternity at Austin Peay State University, Alpha Kappa Psi – Zeta Phi, shared the news. They wrote that he was,

"a light to everyone—always bringing laughter, joy and a warm smile that brightened every room he entered."

Taylor was known online as The Unpopular Party. He made funny videos about pop culture. He had over a quarter million followers on TikTok and many more on Instagram and YouTube. He had just moved from Memphis to Charlotte before the crash. He had just turned 28 a few weeks ago.

What we know about Malik Taylor's accident?

Reports by TMZ further state that authorities say the crash occurred early Wednesday morning. Dispatchers found Malik Taylor's vehicle - a black 2016 Nissan Rogue - at the bottom of a 20-foot drop after veering off the road.

Rescue worked quickly to reach the SUV. Malik Taylor could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Forensic Medical Investigator, he died from blunt force trauma, which means the injuries to his body resulted from sudden impact. They also have two important disclaimers: first, the cause of death was not due to a willful attempt to crash or harm Taylor; and second, they suspect that he might have consumed alcohol before the accident. Officials said they are investigating why the sports utility vehicle left the roadway.

The early report in NationalWorld had details that remain unclear concerning how the crash happened. They wrote prior to any confirmation of an official cause of death, but said other reports have since confirmed blunt force trauma.
