Game director Hideo Kojima has announced that Death Stranding 2 will now allow players to skip boss fights.

Hideo Kojima's game is reportedly nearly over ahead of its release in 3 months, and Kojima Productions is now looking ahead to the final few steps: polishing, marketing, and certification. Gaming demos can be expected to come out in the near future, and according to ITC, the game is expected to come out on time.

Per the outlet, in the forthcoming game, when confronted with a loss against a boss, players will now have two options: either try again or skip the fight altogether. Should they choose the latter, they will go through a visual novel that will explain the storyline and what happens to the boss.

Fans have since begun slamming the idea, with many noting that games are too easy these days. Here's how one fan reacted, for instance:

"Game director Hideo Kojima announced the news, much to the dismay of some fans that's great"

The comments didn't end there:

"Hey kids, if you don't want to actually play the game, just watch a streamer and stop ruining games for actual gamers," one naysayer penned.
"You guys don’t get it. This is a great feature. Sometimes, I don’t want to play video games. With this feature, I can play video games without playing video games. Kojima you’ve revolutionized the gaming industry again. We love you," someone else chimed in.
"Thanks I always wanted to not play the game," another quipped.
"Good for people that are super casual and just want the story aspect. I’ve always thought a good replacement instead of just a simple skip button could be a cutscene of sorts similar to Detroit: Become Human for casual players. That way the gameplay still feels rewarding," one user pointed out.

Here's how the rest of X is reacting:

"Then why play a video game?" one user questioned.
"If their going to do this it better have something like the chicken hat in mgs5 to shame them," someone else suggested.
"Won't it be better to watch a streamer if you want to skip the boss fights?" yet another probed.
"Why would anyone want to skip the boss fight? It's better not to buy the game at all," one more user suggested.

Users were visibly disappointed with the update, with many suggesting that it's better not to buy the game at all and instead have a streamer complete it.

Everything we know about Death Stranding 2, as Hideo Kojima says, he has no idea what to do next:

According to ITC, the gaming developers at Kojima Productions claim that it is vital for the player to know the context of the game they're in for. Skipping a battle shouldn't mean they are deprived of the dialog, story, and other details.

As for Hideo Kojima, the Metal Gear mastermind revealed in his latest KOJI10 radio show that he is now working on "phase 2" of Kojima Productions. The news comes on the heels of the completion of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Project: OD.

According to PSU, Hideo Kojima currently has no idea if he will work on a game or a movie next, though he did recently allude to plans of creating an anime as part of the second phase.
