Online streamer Hasan Piker, also known as HasanAbi, shared his thoughts about Trump's “border czar,” Tom Homan, allegedly accepting a $50K bribe. According to a Reuters report from September 22, sources claimed that Homan took bribes from an undercover FBI agent in exchange for contracts. The matter was investigated and also closed subsequently.

At the time, Kash Patel, the director of the FBI, said:

“This matter originated under the previous administration and was subjected to a full review by FBI agents and Justice Department prosecutors. They found no credible evidence of any criminal wrongdoing. The Department’s resources must remain focused on real threats to the American people, not baseless investigations. As a result, the investigation has been closed.”

Meanwhile, during a recent conversation with TV host George Stephanopoulos, US Vice President JD Vance said that he saw multiple reports of Homan accepting a bribe, but there was no evidence of it. Sharing the clip of the conversation on X, HasanAbi wrote:

“I can’t believe how little attention this story has gotten so far. tom homan got a bag with 50k in bribes in an fbi sting. this admin so transparently corrupt, so nakedly evil that it’s barely made a dent.”

JD Vance criticizes George Stephanopoulos for bringing up the Tom Homan issue

During the conversation with George Stephanopoulos, JD Vance also shared why he thought George’s show got fewer viewers and credibility. Vance said that George spoke to the US Vice President about Tom Homan’s story, something about which he had heard previously. Moreover, Vance claimed that he had no idea of the video that George was talking about.

Vance implied that he should focus on other stories, saying:

“Meanwhile, low-income women can’t get food because the Democrats and Chuck Schumer have shut down the government. Right now, we are trying to figure out how to pay our troops because Chuck Schumer has shut down the government."

He continued:

"You are focused on a bogus story. You are insinuating criminal wrongdoing against a guy who has done nothing wrong instead of focusing on the fact that our country is struggling because of government shutdown.”

Vance reiterated that Tom Homan was not involved in any criminal wrongdoing, calling it a “weird left-wing rabbit hole.” George Stephanopoulos responded that it wasn’t the case and he didn’t insinuate anything. He noted that he only asked if Homan took the bribe, for which Vance did not provide any clear answer.

What did Pam Bondi say about the money recovered in Tom Homan’s case?

On October 7, US Attorney General Pam Bondi was asked about the $50,000 that the FBI agents allegedly gave to Tom Homan. As per US Senator Pete Welch’s website, when Senator Alex Padilla asked if there was a video recording, Bondi got upset and pointed out that he had come in late.

Later, Senator Peter Welch also asked if a video existed showing the $50,000 transfer. Bondi told him to ask someone else, but Welch insisted she answer. When he suggested she knew the truth, Bondi got angry and told him not to call her a liar. She then defended Tom Homan, saying he was doing a great job keeping the border safe, especially in Welch’s state.
