Megan Thee Stallion's team is asking the court to punish Tory Lanez for his behaviour during the deposition. The deposition was for Megan Thee Stallion's defamation lawsuit against online commentator Milagro Cooper.
The conflict between Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez began in July 2020 after attending a party at Kylie Jenner’s house in Los Angeles. While leaving the party in an SUV, the two got into an argument. According to Stallion, whose real name is Megan Pete, she was getting out of the vehicle when Tory, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, shot her in the feet.
This led to Lanez getting charged with assault with possession of a semiautomatic gun, firing a weapon with negligence, and possessing a loaded and unregistered firearm. In December 2022, he was found guilty of all charges, and almost a year later, he was sentenced to ten years in prison.
In October 2024, Megan Thee Stallion sued YouTuber Milagro Cooper for spreading lies and sharing deep-fake videos of her. According to the singer, Tory Lanez paid Milagro to harass her online while being in prison. Megan further asked for a restraining order against Lanez in December for using others to attack her, which was further granted by the judge.
Megan’s lawyers questioned Tory Lanez as part of her case against Milagro about his involvement in helping the YouTuber to harass her. According to the lawyers, Lanez didn’t cooperate. As per the new reports, Megan’s team now requests the court to hold him in contempt for his behavior during the deposition.

"Mr. Peterson's conduct during the deposition was so disruptive, inflammatory, and inconsistent with the basic norms of civil litigation that even his own counsel, who also represents the Defendant, Milagro Cooper, disavowed it. As a result of Mr. Peterson's misconduct, the deposition had to be terminated shortly after it began."
Tory Lanez calls out the lawyer's hair during the deposition
During a deposition, Megan Thee Stallion’s legal team claims Tory Lanez engaged in behavior they describe as disruptive toward her lawyer, Ms. Henderson. Tory allegedly made remarks about her hair color and appearance, avoiding questions asked by her.
During a deposition, Megan Thee Stallion’s lawyer, Ms. Henderson, asked Tory Lanez if he reviewed documents. Tory said her hair distracted him, and the questioning felt one-sided.
In response, the lawyer said,
"Okay, I’m going to go off the record and stop this deposition at this point. Let’s take a 5-minute break - a 10-minute break."
To which Tory Lanez replied,
"Enjoy yourself."
The reports also show Lanez repeatedly saying, "Bring a comb".
Reportedly, the law firm representing Tory Lanez has stated they wouldn't oppose Megan Thee Stallion's lawyers in this matter. Tory Lanez has not yet provided a public explanation regarding the events.
