Rapper Lil Nas X, whose legal name is Montero Lamar Hill, was arrested on Thursday, August 21, 2025, in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, after a bizarre incident.
According to multiple reports, his arrest came after the Grammy-winning rapper was found wandering Ventura Boulevard in the Studio City area in his underwear and cowboy boots. Reportedly, he was booked on suspicion of a misdemeanor obstructing an officer.
In the latest report obtained by TMZ, the enforcement sources told the outlet that since his arrest, the Old Town Road singer has been on his best behavior. He is currently in pre-arraignment jail without any additional facilities, such as a TV. He is being provided three meals per day, which include items like chicken, bean and cheese burritos, cereal, fruit, etc.
Previous reports suggested that the singer is likely to remain in jail over the weekend. The Los Angeles Police Department told Daily Mail that he must appear before a judge in order to be released.

What do we know about Lil Nas X’s arrest?
While speaking to the Daily Mail, on the arrest of Lil Nas X, Officer Cervantes told the outlet:
“With the charge 69 (a) PC, the arrestee (Hill) cannot be cited out. It is mandatory that he appears before a judge before he is released. This will happen on Monday.”
According to the California Legislative Information website, a person is charged with Penal Code - PEN § 69 when he has been accused of attempting, “to deter or prevent an executive officer from performing any duty imposed upon the officer by law, or who knowingly resists, by the use of force or violence, the officer,” will be fined $10,000 or be imprisoned for one year, or both.

Lil Nas X has been reportedly arrested for battery on a police officer and taken to the hospital after a possible overdose. The LAPD sources told NBC24 that Lil Nas X allegedly threw punches at officers, which led them to use force and forced him to the ground.
Los Angeles police spokesman Officer Charles Miller said that they responded to reports of a naked man roaming in the 11000 block of Ventura Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley community, shortly before 6 a.m. on August 21, 2025.
Nas, who is currently 26 years old, is best known for his track, Old Town Road, which was released in December 2018. The song features the famous singer and Miley Cyrus’ father, Billy Ray Cyrus. Billboard reported that the track climbed to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 in the first three months of 2019.
The Washington Times reported that Nas’s first studio album, called Montero, gained the No.2 spot on the Billboard album chart. He won Grammys for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Music Video for “Old Town Road” during the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. Additionally, he has been nominated for the Best New Artist, Album of the Year, and Record of the Year.
