Everything we know about Mass Appeal’s Legend Has It series

As described in the trailer's caption, the Legend Has It series is much more than releasing music. Rather, it appears to be a unified front of rap artists who have taken the music from the "streets" to the "world." According to Billboard, the lineup will include Ghostface Killah's Supreme Clientele 2 and Raekwon's Emperor's New Clothes. The duo is also a member of the hip-hop collective, Wu-Tang Clan.

De La Soul will be releasing the album after the passing of member Trugoy the Dove in February 2023. Additionally, Mobb Deep will be releasing their album after the passing of their one-half, Prodigy, in June 2017. The record label shared a press release describing the series as "is dedicated to celebrating and spotlighting some of the most important and influential hip-hop artists of all time." The press release by Mass Appeal described the artists as,

"trailblazers who’ve been instrumental in building and shaping the music and culture, and have taken it from the streets of New York City to the wider world, leaving an indelible mark."

Mass Appeal added that the album,

"features rap icon and Mass Appeal Records co-founder Nas and super-producer DJ Premier’s reprisal of their groundbreaking partnership; Ghostface Killah’s long-rumoured Supreme Clientele 2 sequel to his 2000 classic; plus a fresh offering, Emperor’s New Clothes, from fellow Wu-Tang Clan lynchpin Raekwon The Chef."

Mass Appeal is gearing up for big launched in the upcoming months. While the release dates haven't been mentioned, fans can receive updated information by signing up on the website. More official information is expected to follow in the upcoming days. In other news, Nas is scheduled to perform at the World Reunion Charity Concert in India on April 19, 2025.
