On June 24, 2025, Triston’s mum, Hattie Mae Sullivan, took to her social media to announce the latest addition to her family. She didn't share photos or videos, only a write-up expressing her excitement to be a grandmum.

Triston Harper went on American Idol when he was 15 years old. He joined the show's twenty-second season as a fifteen-year-old boy from McIntosh who had “gone through a lot.” In a video segment of his audition, Triston talked about his life in McIntosh.
“I grew up right here, since I was born basically,” Triston began. “I wouldn't trade McIntosh for nothing, but there just ain't no place like home.”
“My mama wanted us to be something, that's why I got into music. You have your ups and downs, or at least I had. By the age of eleven years old, my mum was with my stepdad. He was getting very abusive. We had to leave McIntosh. The lowest part of my life was when me and my Ma had got homeless and was sleeping on the side walk,” the fifteen-year-old Triston shared.
He added that he was excited to share his story with the world. After his emotional video segment, Triston Harper gave his audition performance and received an applause from the audience and standing ovations from Katy Perry and Richie. While he didn't win the season, Harper finished top five.
Following his departure from the show, Triston took to his official Facebook account to update his fans on his personal life. He broke the news of his marriage to Paris Reed on November 6, 2024.
“Iv got big news harpies,” the singer wrote has he changed his relationship status from single to “married with Paris Reed.”
Two days after Triston’s announcement, his mum dropped a bomb news that the couple were expecting their first child together.
