The Wombats announces an outdoor concert in Reading featuring Doves and Hard-Fi: Details explored

Great news for UK indie music fans! The Wombats are gearing up for an electrifying outdoor concert, joined by indie legends Doves and Hard-Fi. Get ready for an unforgettable night of live music! The lineup is a part of the upcoming Heritage Live Festival, and The Wombats will perform a show in Pangbourne this summer.

The Liverpool band will perform in Englefield House in Pangbourne, near Reading, Berkshire. The performance will take place on Thursday, July 17, and will feature several other prominent indie artists like Doves, Hard-Fi, and Alfie Templeman.

Tickets for the Heritage Live Festival will go live on April 10 at 9 AM EST and will range between £44 to £49 for adults. However, fans can also sign up for the presale and get their hands on the tickets on April 8 instead.

The Wombats recently released their sixth album, "Oh! The Ocean," back in February this year

The Wombats have been prominent in the UK indie scene since 2007, when they released their first album, "A Guide to Love, Loss, and Desperation." Since then, they have released many more popular albums, like "Turn," "Let's Dance to Joy and Division," and "Greek Tragedy." Back in February this year, they released their sixth album, "Oh! The Ocean," which was also very well received by the UK indie music community.

Speaking about the anticipation of performing in an outdoor arena, frontman Matthew "Murph" Murphy described that he was usually more freaked out about performing in front of a smaller crowd than larger crowds.

"The bigger the crowd, the more comfortable I feel. The small ones freak me out, because I can see everyone’s face."

Explaining his statement, Murph said,

"I can see the boyfriend that’s been dragged along against his will. I can see the first album fans, or I can see the people who know us from TikTok and were expecting a Euro dance track. I can see all of these things, whereas when it’s a big crowd, I just see one quite happy, energetic being."

The Wombats will be performing many other outdoor shows this year, having announced their own UK and Ireland arena tour along with The Snuts. They will also be seen as the final headliners for Sheffield's Rock N Roll Circus 2025.
