BTS' Taehyung has once again made headlines, with a new feat. The Winter Ahead singer emerged as the third-most streamed K-pop soloist in Spotify history. As reported by @AboutMusicYT, the BTS idol marked the achievement with over 4.6 billion streams on Spotify. Kim Taehyung, aka V, made the mark while serving his term in the Korean military.

Fans of V were overjoyed with his newest feat, and they swamped the internet with love and appreciation for him and his works. A user on X stated:

Fans praise BTS' Taehyung on achieving new milestone

Several fans have congratulated BTS' Taehyung on social media. While many noted his achievement comes without any promotions, payola, or playlists, others said he waspure talent.

“No playlists or promotion of his company, just his talent and charisma. Kim Taehyung is that kind of artist. BORAHAE TAEHYUNG,” a fan said.
“Our self made star Congratulations Taehyung Keep shining on We love you forever,” another fan commented.
“My man pulled this off all on his own, with barely any resources. I'm beyond proud.,” stated an admirer.

Some felt BTS' Taehyung makes timeless music, while thought his feat to be super impressive. Fans also asserted that V is the real organic artist.

Kim Taehyung enlisted in military service

As of this writing, Kim Taehyung is performing his obligatory military duties since his enrolment in the army in December 2023. BTS’ V joined his service alongside his fellow singer RM. Both of them are likely to be discharged in June 2025.

BTS' Taehyung dropped his debut solo album Layover on September 8, 2023. The record features a compilation of six tracks:

Recently, V’s Layover emerged as the first and only album by a K-Pop solo artist in Spotify history to have every track exceed 140 million streams.


Besides BTS' Taehyung, three other members of the boy band occupy top positions on the list. Jungkook, Jimin, SUGA are placed at the first, second, and fourth spots respectively.
