Rising indie-pop sensation d4vd (pronounced “David") had a debut to remember at Coachella 2025, just maybe not for the reason he’d hoped. While delivering a high-energy set on April 12, the 20-year-old artist attempted one of his signature backflips… and spectacularly face-planted in front of a packed Gobi stage crowd.
His awkward fall was caught on camera and quickly exploded online, with fans reacting in both concern and amusement. d4vd himself was among the first ones to react to his own embarrassment.
On X (formerly Twitter), he wrote:
“humiliation ritual complete... see u next week coachella i love u”
The Here With Me singer included a meme-worthy image of a contemplative dog looking into the sun.
Refusing to let the fall define his festival career, d4vd followed it up with a clip of himself rehearsing flips, and captioning it with:
“training for the next one”
d4vd will return to the desert on April 18, and hopefully, his round two goes a little more feet-first.
Fans sound off on d4vd’s Coachella 2025 stumble: "I would never show my face again tbh"
d4vd’s tumble was undeniably humiliating, but the internet had a field day. Some roasted him with hilarious tweets while others lauded his graceful recovery and sense of humor.
“u stronger than me bro i would never show my face again tbh,” online user @IssueWithSkill2 said.
“if i was in your situation i would run away from the stage and delete my all social media accounts,” @keseipeilish wrote.
“nahh don’t backtrack, you meant that flip w your SOUL SIR,” @lexidacherryy said.
“LMFAOO WHEN YOU FELL AND JUST LAID THERE SINGING I WAS DYINGGGG,” @leehan_xoxo stated.
“The way you fell was so tuff,” @imfrjustaboy noted.
“be careful next week king,” deercait advised.
How d4vd prepped for his Coachella debut
Before stepping onto the Coachella stage for the first time, d4vd sat down for an exclusive interview with Billboard’s host Tetris Kelly, where he revealed how he geared up for the big moment.
The Romantic Homicide artist revealed:
“I went to the fitting yesterday. I had a little vibe check. Little vibe check. I picked out two, two fire outfits. You know, I’m excited. I’m hyped. I’m thrilled. I got all the adrenaline in my body already preparing me for Friday, but I’m excited.”
When asked if he would have different ‘fits for the 12th and 18th, d4vd shared:
“I got this iconic style that I go for, but there’s always like so much to play around with with this style. I don’t give too much away right now, but it’s just coming, bro.”
d4vd, born David Anthony Burke, was born in Queens, New York, and raised in Houston, Texas. He shot to fame in 2022 when his track Romantic Homicide went viral on TikTok, which led him to sign a deal with Darkroom/Interscope Records.
The song's success was followed by Here With Me, further establishing his presence in the music industry.
On April 25, d4vd will release his debut studio album, WITHERED.
