When it comes to backflips, Benson Boone has a history of showing his signature step, and he did not miss it during Coachella 2025. On April 12, 2025, the X account “Pop Crave” shared a video of the singer performing a backflip while singing Sorry I'm Here For Someone Else.

This wasn’t his only flip at the music festival. He was also seen performing a backflip while singing Bohemian Rhapsody. Social media users sang in praise of his performance in the comment section, while one X user wrote:

“His flipping is the equivalent of pink flying around her stadiums.”

Netizens appreciated Boone’s performance, while others compared him with Freddie Mercury.

“Yall keep begging for a male pop star who has stage presence and you get given one and just complain for no reason. He’s eating!!” a netizen pointed out.
“Is Benson Boone the Freddie Mercury of the current generation?” a social media user asked.
“Nah……I would have blew out both my knees on that. Respect,” an online commentator claimed.

Many X users called him an “acrobat,” while others noted that new artists are not treated well.

“Wow. not only a good singer but master in acrobat as well,” another X user mentioned.
“The hate for Benson Boone is unbelievable forced. Dude makes good clean music, perform, and leave. No gimmicks, no controversy, just music and acrobatics,” an internet user remarked.
“It’s sad how people treats new artists, we wanted a male popstar, and he at least is doing something that isn’t wearing sweatpants and a buzzcut doing the same music as everyone,” a netizen opined.

How did Benson Boone perfect his backflips? Singer says it was “just one shot”

Benson Boone showed up for his set in a sleeveless white jumpsuit with light blue straps on both the pants and top. Smiling, he asked the audience if they liked his outfit. Some of the songs he performed included Cry, Drunk in My Mind, and he later performed Mystical Magical for the first time, as per reports.

Moreover, his Coachella debut came shortly after he shared that his upcoming second album, American Heart, is expected to drop sometime in spring or summer. In an interview with Billboard in February 2025 at the Grammys, Benson Boone was asked about how he perfected his backflips, to which he replied:

“You know what? It was really just one shot. It was during a show and I didn't really practice it before. I am not much of a rehearsing guy and I went for it and it went well but I will say like when you are on stage, when you have a crowd that's just screaming at everything you do, you can't really feel like you fail. So, I just went for it and luckily it went well so I kept doing it.”

When host Tetris Kelly brought up Benson Boone’s vocal skills and mentioned a recent viral video, Boone admitted that filming the segment felt awkward, with everyone quietly watching him sing.

He shared that while screaming on stage was different, he truly cared about delivering strong vocals and giving fans a great live performance. For him, it wasn’t just about doing backflips; it was about the full experience.
