Doechii is paying homage to Gotye in her new music video for Anxiety, which samples Somebody That I Used To Know.

The chart-topping songstress released the official music video for the track, which dominated TikTok and Instagram a few weeks ago, and it pays tribute to the song it samples by Gotye, featuring Kimbra.

The video was co-directed by James Mackel, and the track recently became the songstress' first single to clock in on the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. The Grammy-winning single boasts over 1.8 million videos set to the song on TikTok alone and even spawned a dance trend, loosely inspired by Will Smith's dance moves in the pilot episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Doechii's Anxiety took social media by storm just a few short days ago, prompting even the Fresh Prince himself, Will Smith, to join in, alongside prolifics like the cast of the White Lotus. Iconic children's TV shows have also hopped on the bandwagon, including The Sesame Street TikTok account, which uploaded its own version of the trend recently.

As for the official music video, it showcases an array of dancers consoling Doechii among a chaotic house. It also seems to be a recreation of her old bedroom, which served as the shoot location for the original 2019 version of the song.

Moreover, the singer's younger twin sisters are also featured in the video as part of the supporting cast, and they can be seen across the video sporting outfits that seem to be inspired by the legendary twins from The Shining.

The video was dropped a day after the singer took to Instagram to share a teaser, though earlier this month, behind-the-scenes footage began circulating online. In them, Doechii and her backup dancers could be seen filming for the video on the streets of LA.

Moreover, the singer also recently teamed up with the two people who inspired the dance trend on social media in the first place— Will Smith, who played Uncle Will, and Tatyana Ali, who played Cousin Ashley— to bust out her dance moves for a video that broke the internet.

Smith took to Instagram to surprise fans with the video, while the caption read:

“Waited 35 years for this dance to trend."

Jaden Smith joined in on the fun, as he penned in the comments section of the post:

“Dad you gotta tell me what’s happening in the crib so I can fly home bro.”

Doechii first dropped Anxiety back in 2019 on her YouTube channel, though it recently skyrocketed in success, prompting the singer to re-record and drop the official track on streaming services in March.
