Following the success of her hit singles, Diet Pepsi and Aquamarine, Rae's fourth track reveals her vulnerable emotional experiences. Directed by Mitch Ryan, the track slowly moves from turbulence to a slow acceptance. Rae (@addisonraee) announced the release of the music video on Instagram and noted,

"This song is deeply connected to me in so many ways. Writing it was healing, emotional, and extremely spiritual. Every good thing comes my way. Because I choose to be good."

In an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, Addison Rae opened up about her experience filming the song in Iceland. When asked about her plans, she noted,

"Yes there is a destination in track. There will be an album, I will share more details very soon about it."

She described Headphones On as a "very cathartic song" and added,

"It's definitely one of the more emotional ones I have made thus far."

Addison Rae's fans have been hooked to the screens since her Coachella performance with Arca. Notably, the singer revealed the release date of her debut album on June 6. While the name of the album has not been revealed, more details about it are expected in the upcoming months.
