Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry have confirmed through their representatives that although they have agreed to continue “to be seen together as a family,” their romantic relationship and long engagement are over. This new dynamic will be maintained, reportedly, to provide stability for their four-and-a-half-year-old daughter Daisy Dove.
A statement from the couple's reps made to Page Six attempted to clear things up for fans and the media:
"Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting."
The statement continued:
"They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter [Daisy Dove, 4½] with love, stability, and mutual respect."
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s relationship timeline explored as the couple calls it quits on their romantic relationship
The Lord of the Rings actor and Fireworks singer first met reportedly at the Golden Globes afterparty in 2016 and hit it off after arguing over an In-N-Out burger. In May, their relationship became official as they walked the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival together.
In February 2017, news broke that the couple had split but remained good friends. By the next year, sources close to the couple revealed to the media that they were spending time together but had not put a label on their new relationship.
In September 2018, they announced that they were back together through a red debut at the Gala for the Opera of Monte Carlo in Monaco. On Valentine’s Day in 2019, Orlando Bloom asked Katy Perry to be his wife, and the latter replied in the affirmative.
Perry announced her pregnancy in the music video for her track Never Worn White, which was released in March 2020. The couple postponed their Japan wedding due to the 2020 pandemic.
Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry welcomed their daughter Daisy Dove in August 2020. In a September 2024 interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Perry talked about Bloom and described him as “a real sage”:
"He's a real sage. We both have parts of ourselves. There's two parts of us, our highest good, and then our carnal, material self. Ego," she said of Bloom. "When the ego is running the show, then it's like, 'Whoa.' But when that's in check, then we're both something else."
However, in June 2025, TMZ broke the news that the couple had separated. The following month, the couple confirmed through their representatives that the rumours about their breakup were true.
