After Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+ have established themselves with their unique streaming services, it’s time to welcome another platform on the block.
Chick-fil-A, the American fast-food chain is launching its streaming app: Chick-fil-A Play for kids and family entertainment. The app will be released on November 18.
The platform is reportedly designed for kids so they have some family time with their parents while binging on their favorite meal. It is said to have podcasts, games, shows, recipes, and much more.
Founded in 1946 by S. Truett Cathy, Chick-fil-A opened its services in the United States initially and has now become the third-largest quick-service restaurant in the country.
Later it expanded its services to Canada and Puerto Rico as well. The chain is largely known for serving chicken sandwiches and waffle fries to its customers. The popular fast-food chain has over more than 3,000 restaurants across these countries and plans to expand its services to Europe and Asia by 2030.
Making the announcement, Chick-fil-A News took to X and wrote,
“Chick-fil-A is launching the new Chick-fil-A Play App on Nov. 18 — a free digital platform with engaging content everyone in the family can enjoy and watch together!”
Chick-Fil-A in a statement to the press release said the new app is,
"designed for parents and kids to share and experience together whether they’re enjoying a meal at home, in the drive-thru, or anywhere in- between."
Features offered by Chick-fil-A Play
The streaming platform will offer shows like Legend of Evergreen Hills. The animated Chick-fil-A cows will also be seen in the app. The app will also have kid-friendly podcasts and e-books.
It will be accompanied by games, jokes, and conversation starters. Plus, parents can find meal recipes displayed on the app.
According to Dustin Britt, director of brand strategy,
"Hospitality and fun have always been at the core of the Chick-fil-A family experience, whether inside our Restaurants and play areas, or through our Kids Meals."
"The Chick-fil-A Play App is a digital extension of that experience and another way we're reimagining 'Play' for our Guests, in a unique way through entertainment that really encourages time together,"
Chick-fil-A sets to open first Asian outlet in Singapore
Reports suggest that the Chicken sandwich chain is planning to open its first Singapore restaurant by 2025. In a press release statement, the company announced that it will invest US$75 million (S$98.5 million) in Singapore for the next 10 years which makes it part of its expansion strategy.
Anita Costello, Chick-fil-A’s Inc.’s chief international officer, expressed her views on choosing Singapore as the first Asian outlet. She highlighted how Singaporeans’ love for food and the city’s strategic position plays a key role in the expansion, in a statement.
"The profound love that Singaporeans have for food as well as the city’s strategic position as a gateway to the Asian market make it the ideal choice for Chick-fil-A’s first permanent restaurant in the region,"
In an interview with 11 Alive, Hugh Park, the Head of Asia Pacific operations said,
"Our unique approach, with locally owned and operated restaurants, will also allow us to better connect with people in Singapore as we provide an authentic Chick-fil-A experience."
Chick-fil-A’s approach is bound to create better job opportunities and enhance growth in the industry sector in Singapore.
