It's a new dawn for Nike fans - the brand just announced a new silhouette, the Air Max Muse for women. The inspiration for the new sneaker model comes from its Air Max predecessors. This design features a mix of practicality and aesthetics.
The sneakers will be exclusively available at different select Nike retailers on 11 December 2024. However, its global release will be launched on the official Nike SNKRS app on 10 January 2025.

Air Max Muse: A combination of Nike Air Max and futuristic elements
The newest sneaker design from Nike is the Air Max Muse, exclusively designed for women. Two of the main priorities behind its creation are comfort and an advanced design. Nike's creative team has used computational design to craft every part of the shoe.
According to Can Eldem, the Footwear Designer of Women’s Sportswear at Nike,
"This silhouette was designed to surprise women sneaker fans, capturing their attention and imagination with a new application of Air — something they’ve never seen before,"
He continues,
"Our goal was to design an entirely new Air Max model focused on both expression and comfort, making the silhouette uniquely hers — sleek, beautiful and bold — while offering the kind of innovation and cushion that she expects from the Air Max franchise." Cam elaborates.
Diving into the design of the Air Max Muse
The main focus of the Air Max Muse is its futuristic details. It was first worn by Nike athletes such as Jordan Chiles and Qinwen Zheng. What draws the audience to the sneakers is the semi-glossy heel where the Air unit is enclosed.
The upper part of the sneakers is designed using molded synthetic leather as a base, while the overlay features a mix of different textures and finishes. The upper part is raised and has padded textures that add to the futuristic vibe, making the shoes visually striking.
In terms of color, the shoes will debut in a metallic silver colorway. Looking towards 2025, Nike is expecting to launch more colors and textures this upcoming year, offering styles and options to match every aesthetic.
Marya Chan, the Materials Design Director of Nike Sportswear says,
We wanted to explore how the finishes of the Air Max Muse could enhance the silhouette while also providing her a range of options to suit her evolving style and mood, beginning with our silver metal colorway... It was also important for the materials to surprise her, both in how they look and feel, creating a new, modern expression that can be styled in multiple ways to enhance her everyday look."
This new sneaker model is one of the most-awaited silhouettes for women. It will be released on 11 December 2024 in the silver colorway. However, the sneakers will be internationally available on the Nike SNKRS website on 10 January 2025.
