LEGO has officially unveiled the highly-anticipated Marvel X-Men: The X-Mansion (76294) set. Inspired by the X-Mansion from the X-Men animated series, this 3,093-piece set will retail for about $329.99 come November 1.
The brand's press release dubs the set an "immersive, creative construction project," revealing that it houses a buildable Sentinel and ten Minifigures, five of which will debut on a set from the brand. These include Professor X, Jean Grey, Gambit, Iceman, Bishop, Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops, Rogue, and Magneto.
LEGO shows off the biggest X-Men set yet
Also known as The Xavier Institute for Higher Learning, the set features minute and prominent details from the X-Mansion, like the Cerebro, switchable Danger Room items, an exploding cupola (dome-like structure), and a motorcycle for Wolverine. As if that wasn't enough, graphical nods to the iconic X-Men franchise have been incorporated into the highly anticipated piece.
The press release also mentions that all who purchase the set between November 1 and 7 will receive a LEGO Marvel Cerebro as a gift. However, an Insider's membership is mandatory to avail of this, and the offer stands until supplies last. The set can be purchased in-store or online. It will hit the shelves for the general public by November 4.
The press release states:
"With 3,093 pieces, this immersive, creative construction project gives adults a chance to unwind and lose themselves as they build a lasting model of an essential and recurring part of Marvel’s much loved X-Men stories: The Xavier Institute for Higher Learning."
Notably, this is the biggest X-Men set the brand has released. Apart from debuting the beloved Xavier Institute for Higher Learning in a tangible form, the set features intricate details only visible to fans with a keen eye.
For example, in the Danger Room, a sign on the wall reads UX 266- a nod to Gambit's full debut in Marvel Comics, which came out on June 19, 1990, in The Uncanny X-Men #266. Furthermore, the set includes a Cerebro, made of bricks, that depicts a screen of Jubilee and Professor Xavier in his wheelchair.
The brand's press release further continues:
"Part of the LEGO Sets for Adults range, the X-Mansion is the perfect escape for experienced builders and a phenomenal gift for the Marvel enthusiast in your life. Unleash your inner hero, gather your mutant team, and experience the X-Mansion like never before!"
While the set currently sits in the brand's "Coming Soon" section for November 2024, it will be shifted to the "Available Now" section upon its release.
