Vikkstar, along with other influencers and internet celebrities from the popular YouTube group Sidemen - KSI, Miniminter, Zerkaa, TBJZL, Behzinga, and W2S - have dabbled in just about every form of entertainment out there: reaction videos, gaming streams, comedy sketches, game shows, charity matches, clothing brands, and even a restaurant chain.
One of the members, KSI, has also ventured into music, dropping tracks and music videos over the years, though his latest, Thick of It, has become one of his most trolled yet. And now, it looks like another Sidemen member has jumped on the music video bandwagon.
Vikram Singh Barn, a.k.a. Vikkstar, recently made his Tomorrowland Music debut with his new single Chemical, which he released on his YouTube channel on April 9th. While the video was mostly well-received by fans who congratulated him on his debut, many criticized him for what appeared to be an AI-generated music video. His comments section was quickly flooded with backlash, with viewers calling out the use of AI over human creativity.
Fans Roast Vikkstar for AI-Generated Music Video
Many of Vikkstar’s fans were seen hilariously roasting him for uploading what looked like an AI-generated music video for his latest track, Chemical.
"AI is taking our jobs," a fan wrote.
The music video sure seems to have left many of Vikkstar's fans jokingly afraid of losing their jobs to AI. Talk about a hilarious backfire!
"The sidemen fall off is gonna be wild. Next Harry's probably gonna be caught selling crack💀," said another.
This user seems even more convinced that the Sidemen are nearing their downfall after seeing Vikkstar’s AI-generated music video. What’s next - Harry selling crack on stream?
From hype to hate (via @starryjzl / X)
Now that’s a speedrun of “All that for that?” if we’ve ever seen one. All that hype for the new music video vanished really quickly for this user.
"Vikkstar is so f***ing rich and could pay any artist to do anything, yet he used AI instead :/ yikes," a fan pointed.
Fans were left baffled seeing Vikk drop an AI-generated music video, especially considering he’s a millionaire who could easily hire top-tier artists. Petition to see where that budget went, please!
"Guys I think Vik made an AI music video cuz he knew it would go viral and people would talk about it. He was just trying to boost his streams," commented another.
Aha, looks like this fan just cracked the code - Vikkstar made the video AI-generated on purpose just to go viral from the backlash. Diabolical marketing move or accidental genius?
Vikkstar’s new music video might not have gotten the reaction he was hoping for, but hey, any publicity is good publicity, right? Chemical is now streaming on all major platforms if you're curious about what the fuss is about.
