“No superpowers, just vibes”—Fans poke fun at the new Thunderbolts poster

The upcoming Thunderbolts movie marks the culmination of Phase 5 of the Marvel Universe before it embarks on a new era. The movie is slated to be released in theatres on May 2, 2025, and will chronicle the adventures of a rag-tag bunch of anti-villains turned superheroes. After the mishap with the earlier poster in which a superhero was hilariously given SIX fingers, Marvel has gone for a much more refined poster this time around.

New Thunderbolts poster sends fans into a frenzy

Marvel's bombshell announcement about Avengers: Doomsday has the fans in a chokehold, and Thunderbolts has gone under the radar to such an extent that it has barely even registered a pulse. The earlier creative misstep shed light on the movie for all the wrong reasons but now with the updated poster, Marvel has decided to do away with the concept of fingers and released the poster entirely bereft of them!

Marvel seems to have learned its lessons so everything's bound to be better now. Or so you'd think. Fans are still at it, celebrating, roasting, and overanalyzing like it's their job. The Thunderbolts poster sparked a wave of hilarity on social media as fans seem to be putting all their eggs in the Doomsday basket:

"They've really gone out of their way to make a very attractive cast look very tired and grimy", quipped another (via X / @ZachBowders)

The tagline for the poster became meme fodder for fans who wondered what exactly constitutes a hero these days.

Some joked about how "Not Super" is a bit misleading, given the team's impressive skills while others quipped that Marvel is still figuring out what to call them. They will probably figure it out by the next poster...

The new poster for Thunderbolts with a banger of a tagline was met with confusion and amusement amongst the fans. They still kept the roast going as many poked fun at the poster's straightforward, no-frills design:

Taskmaster’s presence in the poster is another matter altogether and has ignited a full-on civil war on social media. Half the fans are hyped while the others are still mad about her Black Widow debut and are demanding a redemption arc. So the fact that was barely afforded any space on the official poster led the conspiracy theorists to cook theories of doom for the much-loved character:

Thunderbolts poster has become a meme sensation, with fans poking fun at its design and speculating about its origins. Say what you want about the movie, Thunderbolts has certainly captured the attention of the fans. From the infamous six-fingered mistake to the sleek new character posters, fans have been entertained and engaged.

If the movie proves half as good as the hype, we are in for a ride!
