Warner Bros has announced they’re reviving not one, not two, but three classic cartoon franchises for modern audiences. They have decided to revive some of our favorite childhood cartoons, which have been gathering dust in their archives, by giving them a modern cinematic makeover. The cartoons in contention for the 4K makeover are The Flintstones, Tom & Jerry, and Looney Tunes.

Memes erupt as Warner Bros announces the revival of three beloved classics

Warner Bros is set to unleash a tidal wave of nostalgia as it has announced that a movie on three classics is under the works. As Warner Bros doubles down on reviving beloved franchises, it raises questions about whether the studio has abandoned original ideas. But hey, nostalgia sells.

Why go through the trouble of taking a risk on an original idea when you can just repackage the same characters, add a celebrity voice cast, and watch the magic unfold? Nonetheless, this news comes as music to the ears of animation enthusiasts, who are dancing with joy. The announcement has sparked a whirlwind of emotions among fans, who feel a mix of excitement, nostalgia, and apprehension.

Fans have been roasting Warner Bros. for its recent tendency to outsource its cartoon legacy to Ketchup Entertainment. Ketchup Entertainment has duly played its role as the knight in shining armor who comes in at the last moment and saves the day.

When the news dropped, it sparked mixed reactions from the fans. While some were cautiously optimistic, others decided to act like it was the end of the world as they claimed foul play. Fans may not agree on everything, but that didn’t stop them from uniting to roast Warner Bros, turning the internet into a meme fest.

"I see they need more tax write off. Fool me twice….", claimed another (via X / @DanielMercuryDS)

Unsurprisingly, the real fun began when fans started speculating about potential crossover scenarios. Some fans created humorous scenarios where Jerry tried to help Fred Flinstone navigate the Zoom meeting, while others put forth the name of Keanu Reeves for Bugs Bunny. Fans came up with some hilarious suggestions as netizens had a field day playing around with the potential names:

"I want to see LeBron in looney tunes movie !!", demanded one fan (via X / @memeland__ofc)
"Cast John Cena as Fred Flintstone", requested another (via X / @JaePhalcon)

Can you imagine John Cena being cast as Fred Flinstone? Fans would lose their minds- mostly because, well, they won't be able to see him.

Amid a surge of trolling on social media, the nostalgia merchants came in to save the day and brought with them their own brand of skepticism:

"If you don't shed a tear at this, you didn't have a childhood", remarked one fan (via X / @jhoanaaxo)

As soon as the news dropped, the internet was instantly split into two warring factions: the optimist souls who are willing to give the reboots a chance, and the skeptics, who come up with pure, unfiltered emotional baggage and are not able to shake it off. Regardless of which side of the fence you sit on, the movies are going to be released soon, so you might as well enjoy them. Let's just hope that Warner Bros can re-capture the magic that once accompanied these classics!
