Attention all units! Requesting backup. The Naked Gun franchise has been taken over by Liam Neeson, and there is a lot of frenzy on the internet. That's right, the new poster for the sequel of the iconic movie was released recently, and it had a lot of surprises.
First, getting the sequel to The Naked Gun is enough to get fans buzzing, then you throw in the handsome hunk Neeson into the mix, and watch the flavour spread. The new poster features the brooding action star with a stern expression, and doing a split. That is enough to arrest anyone's attention and charge them with uncontrollable laughter.
In this upcoming comedy, Liam Neeson stars as Frank Drebin Jr., son of the legendary Leslie Nielsen's character in the original film. Liam, who is known for his 'particular set of skills', will be entering the tricky zone of slapstick comedy.
The Naked Gun is set to release on August 1 and also stars Pamela Anderson. Cody Rhodes, Kevin Durand (possibly replacing OJ), Paul Walter Hauser, Liza Koshy, Danny Huston, and Busta Rhymes. The movie will be directed by Akiva Schaffer and will be produced by Family Guy legend Seth McFarlane.
Fan reaction to the new The Naked Gun poster starring Liam Neeson
With McFarlane at the helm of affairs, let's hope we don't get too many cutaway scenes to make it feel like another Family Guy episode. And of course, Liam Neeson being cast in the legendary role almost feels cosmic with his name's resemblance to the original Frank Drebin, Leslie Nielsen. Do you need more signs?
