Norwegian Cruise Line is canceling 38 cruises onboard its three ships. The statement that the company sent to travel advisors revealed that the three ships were the Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Dawn, and Norwegian Star. Travelers who had already booked the ship are demanding answers.

The cruises scheduled between November 2025 and April 2026 have been canceled. While the company has not mentioned the reason behind the cruise cancelation, they have also canceled sailings onboard the Norwegian Getaway and the Norwegian Sun.

According to Cruise Industry News, fleet redeployment was cited as the reason why the company canceled a two-week-long cruise to the South Pacific onboard the Norwegian Sun. The cruise was scheduled for August 7, 2025. On the other hand, the cruises between August 17 and August 21, 2026, onboard Norwegian Getaway were canceled due to a ship charter.

The Norwegian Jewel's cruises that got canceled were scheduled between November 23, 2025, and April 5, 2026. The ship was set to carry out five to 14-night Caribbean and Bahamas cruises from Tampa.

Norwegian Star was set to host cruises for the entire season in South America and Antarctica between November 20, 2025, and April 14, 2026. However, the cruises which would have showcased the beauty of these two ports have been canceled.

The third ship, the Norwegian Dawn was set for its cruises between November 2, 2025, and April 12, 2026. The ship would have taken travelers to Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia to introduce them to a wide range of cultures and experiences.

Is Norwegian Cruise Line offering refunds to its passengers?

The cruises canceled by Norwegian Cruise Line had pre-booked seats and passengers are wondering about the amount they had already paid.

According to Travel Weekly, the passengers will receive a complete refund in the form of their original payment. Moreover, the company is also offering an extra 10% discount to passengers as Future Cruise Credit (FCC) on their future bookings.

Travel advisors will also stay unaffected by the cancelations as they will be paid their commissions on all bookings.

All guests will soon receive notification letters about the cancelations and deployment changes by Norwegian Cruise Line. The company is also expected to drop revised itineraries for the coming months. They have not shared many details with the guests or travel advisors yet.
