In an alleged road rage shooting in North Carolina, Jeffery Michael Guida lost his life. A father of three, the 40-year-old man was found dead by the Catawba County Sheriff's Office officials. The shooting was allegedly a result of an apparent altercation between Guida and Terrell Eugene Giddens, 75. Giddens has been taken into custody and charged with murder and attempted murder charges.
Per the Catawba County Sherrif's Office report, the officials were reported of a shooting that took place at the Island Poind Rd and North View Harbour Dr intersection in North Carolina.
When the deputies arrived at the scene, they found the body of a man who appeared to have died from gunshot wounds. The deceased was identified as Jeffery Michael Guida, who was 40 at the time of his death. Guida's three children aged 13, 11, and 2 were also present on the scene as they were seated in the car.
The report added that the eyewitnesses of the incident alleged that Giddens and Guida got involved in an altercation after they got out of their respective vehicles. Giddens allegedly shot the 40-year-old and later fired multiple rounds at the latter's vehicle. Guida's three children were not injured.
"Eyewitnesses informed deputies that another man shot the victim after both stopped and exited their vehicles. Eyewitnesses also reported that the shooter fired multiple rounds into the victim’s vehicle during this incident. The victim’s vehicle was occupied at that time by his three children, ages thirteen, eleven and two. Those victims were not injured," read the release.
When the deputies were provided with descriptions of the suspect and his vehicles, they arrested Giddens from his residence in the 9000 block of Island Point Rd.
The 75-year-old man has now been charged with one count of murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder. He is reportedly being held with no bounds. His first appearance in Catawba County District Court is scheduled for October 14, 2024.
