Why General Hospital's Britt has every right to be furious with Jason

It looks like General Hospital's Jason is in the dog house with Britt — with very good reason. Britt learned why Jason played dead for more than two years and had pretty much the same reaction as Sam and much of the audience when they learned where Jason really was from 2021 to 2024. For Britt, hearing the reason was like rubbing salt in an apparently still very open wound.

Many 'JaBritt' fans believe that the pairing never really got a chance after Jason (Steve Burton) and Britt's (Kelly Thiebaud) 2021 summer on the run. They made love and actually planned to start dating once they were back in Port Charles. Britt got ready for their first date with a smile on her face, only to have Jason show up and tell her that he was going to marry Carly (Laura Wright).

Jason claimed the marriage was for the sake of the business, but General Hospital actually tried to make a go of 'Jarly' for like two weeks until Sonny (Maurice Benard) returned from Nixon Falls on Jason and Carly's wedding night. Jason ended his marriage just hours after it began and essentially returned to Britt with his tail between his legs.

To make things up to her, Jason agreed to travel to Cassadine Island to help rescue Liesl (Kathleen Gati) from Victor (Charles Shaughnessy). After an underground tunnel caved in, Jason was presumed dead in the rubble. Last year, we learned what he was really doing and why. And now, Britt knows the truth.

All about General Hospital's Carly

Britt wasn't lying when she said she mourned Jason. We saw her go through it. We saw her think about him, visit his grave, and cry over him. Meanwhile, what was he doing? He was working as an FBI informant so Carly wouldn't end up in jail.

Last year, as Jason's story came out, Sam (Kelly Monaco) could barely believe he gave up his life and time with his two sons just to rescue Carly again. Jason explained that he feared for Sonny's entire business and the fallout that RICO charges could have on their loved ones, but Sam wasn't buying it, and we doubt Britt will buy that explanation either.

If Jason really wants to have a relationship with anyone other than Carly (and it's pretty clear that Carly is firmly in the friend zone), then he has to stop coming to her rescue after all these years. Maybe Britt's rejection will teach Jason a lesson.
