Who really beat up General Hospital's Drew in the shower?

In September of 2023, General Hospital's Drew Cain was beaten in the prison showers, and he hasn't been the same since. At the time, it was implied that Cyrus Renault was behind the beating, but that was never confirmed.

Drew Cain's unbelievable change

While Drew (Cameron Mathison) hasn't quite been himself since returning from Victor Cassadine's (Charles Shaughnessy) Grecian prison in 2021, the dramatic change after his Pentonville stint has been jarring. It never made sense that Drew would fall in love with Carly (Laura Wright) and go to prison for her, keeping him away from Scout (Cosette Abinante), but everything Drew has done since his release has made even less sense.

Just before Drew's shower beating, he had agreed to spy on fellow inmate Cyrus for Carly and Sonny's (Maurice Benard) sake. However, Cyrus was also the one who alerted the guards to Drew's condition after the beating took place. That made Cyrus' (Jeff Kober) role in the attack ambiguous. Could someone else have had Drew beaten and then done something to him while he was at General Hospital recovering?

Yes, Drew is like General Hospital's Shiloh

The new Drew is way too different from the old Drew not to have something funky going on. He is obviously manipulating Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) for his own angle.

Drew's similarities to Willow's former cult leader, Shiloh (Coby Ryan McLaughlin), are striking. He even bought the Dawn of Day house, although nobody wants to mention that. (We no longer believe re-using this set was a coincidence.) What many people forget is that Drew and Shiloh were once buddies in Afghanistan who had a falling out.

Shiloh has been presumed dead since 2020, but that doesn't mean he is actually dead. What if he had someone beat Drew in the shower and then did something to his mind later, causing him to act more like Shiloh than Drew Cain? Shiloh was involved in the original memory-mapping story that gave Drew all of Jason Morgan's memories, so he knows a thing or two about using science fiction-y methods to alter someone's personality.

Then again, Shiloh could have also had the real Drew replaced with himself, either using a Drew mask or plastic surgery. Could Shiloh's interference explain everything that's been going on with Drew? Stay tuned to find out.
