Kristina (Kate Mansi) is stunned when she sees that the crash she caused didn't involve her intended victim. She approaches the accident site expecting to see Ava (Maura West), but instead, she sees that Ric (Rick Hearst) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) are in the car — and Ric is in pretty bad shape.
Kristina immediately regretted her decision to cut the brakes on what she thought was Ava's car. She tried her best to reach Ava and warn her not to drive, but it was already too late. Ric was parked in Ava's spot and was driving Elizabeth home by the time it hit Kristina that she had just committed attempted murder.
Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) had already been following Kristina because he could tell something was terribly wrong. He rushes to the crash scene to check on Elizabeth, but the first responders do their best to keep him away.
Molly (Kristen Vaganos) is with Cody (Josh Kelly) at Charlie's when she gets the news that her father was in a terrible accident. Molly, Cody, and Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) rush to GH where Lucas (Van Hansis) has news for Molly, but he asks the terrified young woman to sit down first.
An anniversary to remember
It's a bittersweet week all around at General Hospital when doctors, nurses, and other prominent Port Charles residents get together to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the hospital opening its doors on April 1, which is also the 62nd anniversary of the soap's debut.
In the story, the GH board, spearheaded by Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), dedicates a new cardiac care unit named for the former chief of staff and top cardio surgeon — and Tracy's sister-in-law — Monica Quartermaine (the late Leslie Charleson). Monica has been in declining health of late and unable to be there, but we will be treated to an episode full of memories and flashbacks remembering times at GH and Monica's important role at the hospital and on the canvas.
GH promises a tearjerker of an episode, so get those Kleenex ready for a trip down memory lane.
