General Hospital fans know Eva LaRue as Natalia Ramirez, and All My Children fans may remember her as Dr. Maria Santos. Although she has decades of daytime drama experience under her belt, LaRue has always had a special connection to her AMC roots—and recently, she shared a nostalgic throwback that tied those beloved memories to none other than Sarah Michelle Gellar.

A Pine Valley flashback with a Buffy twist

In a playful Instagram post, former General Hospital star Eva LaRue wrote, “In Honor Of Buffy The Vampire Slayer’s Reboot & For All My Children From Whence We Both Came. #whatswithmycrazybangs ? *final week of #amc #kendall #maria #flashback #buffythevampireslayer #reboot #allmychildren #soaps #fyp #smg #viralvideos.” Alongside the caption, she included a vintage AMC video clip featuring her and Sarah Michelle Gellar as Kendall Hart in a scene brimming with supernatural humor and heartfelt soap opera drama. The throwback cleverly winked at Gellar’s Buffy legacy, with her character casually insisting that she sees vampires—and had spotted them long before they became trendy.

“I saw them before they were trendy,” Kendall states, adding, “But the only crazy thing is, I feel like I know you. Like I've lived here before, but I can't remember when. It's like I've been homesick for a place that I didn't remember until I came here and realized that this is the place. Does that make sense?” Maria responded, “Uhm…No, but oddly enough, I understand what you mean. Pine Valley is just that kind of town. I remember when I left here, I was so homesick for so long, and I think I’m gonna miss it all over again when I leave.” The young woman implored Dr. Santos not to leave, and when Maria told her there were other great doctors there, Kendall responded, “Well, don't forget to tell them I'm Erica Kane's daughter.”

A vampire/soap mashup?

In the comments, comedian Brooklyn Jones asked, “Why didn’t I know this happened!? Was she still Erica’s child, or was she playing someone else?” @blazingspunx responded to the question with a great explanation: “@itsbrooklynjones She's the original Kendall before she blew up. AMC invited her back in honor of the show's departure and decided to make her someone with amnesia or just delusional. The production had already brought on @aaminshew to play Kendall years prior to @sarahmgellar's special guest appearance.”

While fans reminisced about Gellar being on Buffy, with some asking for LaRue to somehow return to General Hospital, @evalaruefansite made the hopeful comment, “It would be amazing if @sarahmgellar brought you to the Buffy Reboot as a Vampire(?)” And @seanpaulcurran hilariously mashed up the genres with, “It’s Erica Kane’s Daughter…the vampire slayer?”
