Lucas and Marco caught up with one another at the Metro Court bar. Lucas was sure he'd never see Marco again and was surprised he was in Port Charles. Marco told him that he was in town for a job interview with Diane and had seen his picture on Alexis' desk. Lucas was intrigued with the possibility that Marco might be moving to Port Charles.
Lucas then decided to explain himself after the incident in Miami. "What happened? It's not me. I don't get drunk and pick up guys at a bar. Random hookups aren't my thing," Lucas admitted. Marco said he was the same.
When Lucas confessed that he wasn't looking for a serious relationship right now, Marco stressed that he'd only reached out to him because he had seen his pic and really enjoyed spending time with him in Florida. "I just thought we could get to know one another better," Marco said.
So, that's just what they did as Lucas told Marco why he became a doctor and Marco told Lucas about working at a law firm in Manhattan. Finally, Marco had to leave for a meeting, but they agreed to see one another again. As soon as Marco left, Carly appeared like magic, wanting all the tea.
Lucas quickly changed the subject to Carly's love life and the fact that she hadn't come home the night before. Carly was not happy to hear that Jason had visited Lucas at work to pry into Carly's life. "I am so sick of everyone and their concerns. It's not going to change my mind about Jack, so please don't fight me on this," Carly begged.
After Jack told Carly that his conversation with Sonny had nothing to do with her, Carly said she didn't believe him. She also didn't believe that Sonny wasn't telling Jack to stay away from her. "Why are you so sure that Sonny threatened me to leave you alone or else?" Jack asked. "Because it's happened many times before," Carly stated matter-of-factly.
"To Sonny's credit, he didn't bring up your name even once. I swear," Jack said. Carly still found it hard to believe. "You have to understand that there are certain subjects I cannot discuss with you. If our worlds happen to intersect and it involves my work, for your own safety, I cannot tell you the truth...Now, is that something you can live with?" he asked. Carly decided that yes, she could before engaging in a very public kiss with Jack.
Josslyn walked into a coffee shop and was surprised to see Vaughn talking to a young woman who just wanted to borrow the sugar from his table. Vaughn asked Joss to sit with him. Joss informed Vaughn that the woman was hitting on him, but he didn't believe her.
Vaughn wondered what Joss was doing there, so she explained that she was given the day off and had seen the shop's logo on his coffee cups. She figured the place must have some pretty good coffee. The two made some small talk and got to know one another better. They even found that they had volleyball in common.
When Vaughn got some croissants at the counter, Josslyn noticed him drop them. She also saw the woman he had been talking with slip him a small notepad when she helped him pick them up. Back at the training center, Joss tried asking Vaughn a question, but Jack walked in and interrupted them.
Vaughn told Jack that Joss was ready to graduate and he wanted to get back in the field. "Ever since Romania, we can't afford to have you out there," Jack warned, raising Josslyn's suspicions. Before Vaughn left the room, Josslyn told Jack about what she saw at the coffee shop.
At Wyndemere, Sidwell warned Natalia never to tell him what to do again just before there was a knock on the door. Sidwell opened the door to find a smiling Sonny standing there. "Well, Mr. Sidwell. I think it's time we met," Sonny said before walking into the living room, but by then, Natalia had made herself scarce.
Sonny was surprised to hear that Sidwell had just made a deal with Deception. Sonny said he would get the details from Lucy because he was really there to talk about the fire at his penthouse. "It was right about the time that you showed up in Port Charles," Sonny said.
Sonny explained that he hadn't thought Sidwell was involved at first, but since then, new information had come to light. After Jack told him that Selitzki had done work in Africa, Sonny could only think of Sidwell, so that is why he was on Spoon Island. Sidwell pointed out that Africa was a big continent, so it all had to be a coincidence. "I'm a cautious man. I don't like coincidences," Sonny said.
Sidwell stressed that he didn't want to get rid of Sonny. In fact, he wanted the opposite. He wanted to operate his business like Sonny did and admired how Sonny maintained an air of legality while bending the law to suit his needs. "Your continued presence is crucial to my success. I don't see you as a rival. I see you as someone who will maintain the status quo so my business can thrive," Sidwell said.
Sidwell even offered to help Sonny find the person who set the fire bomb. "I have a son, so I know what you're going through," Sidwell said sympathetically. Sonny turned down his help before turning around to leave. After Sonny walked out, Natalia walked back into the living room.
Natalia warned Sidwell that he didn't want Sonny as an enemy. Natalia claimed that she and Sonny were just friends, but Sidwell could only laugh. He didn't believe her at all. Once again, there was soon a knock on the door. When Sidwell opened it, Marco walked in. "Sorry I'm late, Dad," he said. When he saw Natalia he was shocked and so was she. "Mom, what are you doing here?" Marco asked.
In the Q solarium, Sasha assured Jason that the baby was fine. However, she wanted to discuss Jason's legal standing in her baby's life. Sasha explained that Felicia had wondered if Jason's name would be on the baby's birth certificate, which made Sasha question what Jason's full intentions were.
Jason said he was fine with everything Felicia had mentioned to Sasha, including the name on the certificate and supplying his medical records. Sasha warned Jason he would be committing fraud, but the professional hit man didn't seem to care. "I've done worse," he deadpanned.
Jason tried to calm Sasha and told her to worry about those things as they came up. Sasha was still a wreck and worried Willow would find out the truth and use it in the custody case. Sasha was essentially a nervous wreck, while Jason remained calm.
"I want to give my baby the best life possible, but how can I do that when I am starting off by lying to their whole family?" Sasha said. Jason suggested taking things one step at a time until Michael recovered. "He's putting in the work and getting better. All you have to do is stay the course until he gets back," Jason reminded.
When the baby kicked, Sasha pulled Jason's hands over to feel her belly. She also made sure to jokingly call him "Dad."
Kai dropped into Curtis' office for advice. "Congressman Cain offered me an incredible opportunity," Kai said. Curtis was immediately alarmed and asked what Drew wanted Kai to do. Kai informed Curtis that Drew wanted to do something for him. "There's this cutting edge operation that can fix my crap spine....Drew gave me some information about the doctor who performed this operation on a few athletes and had success," Kai said.
Curtis wasn't surprised to hear that Drew was willing to get him an appointment with this doctor and pay for the surgery. Curtis conceded that Drew had the connections and the money to do as he offered. Kai seemed to truly want this. "It can give me a chance to play football again," he said. However, Kai still wasn't sure he wanted to take the risk and asked Curtis what he thought Kai should do.
Curtis admitted he'd also had an experimental procedure. "I trusted my wife because she's a brilliant doctor, but Drew isn't. So, before you get your hopes up, my advice would be to get your procedure medically vetted," he said.
Drew stormed into Portia's office, shouting, "We had a deal." Portia was taken aback but claimed she had held up her end of the bargain by standing next to him at the press conference. That wasn't enough for Drew. "Then, Curtis went ahead and ruined all of it by calling me Congressman Cain in all the Aurora Media coverage," Drew lamented.
Drew didn't waste any time making threats. "You better get Curtis under control, or I will blow your cushy little life right out of the water," Drew warned.
"I had no way of knowing what Drew was planning to do at Aurora Media," Portia explained, but Drew told her it was not her job to know. Portia once again warned Drew that Curtis was a smart man and would figure out that something strange was going on. Drew warned Portia she had to make sure that didn't happen. As Drew started to leave, he found Brad at the door and told him, "She's all yours."
Brad was surprised to hear that those lab results had somehow ended up in Drew's possession. Brad thought about it for a minute and realized his Aunt Selina had given them to Drew. "Not only did you keep the evidence, but you gave it to your mobbed-up aunt. Wow, Brad, you really are unbelievable," Portia said.
However, Portia was ready to make things right. She told Brad the only thing they had left to discuss was his severance package. Brad begged to keep his job while apologizing profusely. Brad didn't get too far in making a case for himself because Kai arrived. Portia kicked Brad out of her office to talk to Kai, who wanted Portia's opinion on the experimental procedure.
Portia admitted that this wasn't her area of expertise, but she would do some research for him and give Kai her opinion. When Portia learned this was all Drew's idea, she was alarmed and asked Kai if he had spoken with his parents about it.
Brad returned after Kai left. Portia finally agreed to allow him to keep his job. "But only because I might need your help in the future," she said.
After meeting with Kai, Curtis summoned Drew to his office to tell his old friend and current enemy to leave Kia alone. "Here you come swooping in and all cavalierly trying to give him a chance at the impossible," Curtis said. Drew thought Curtis, of all people, would want Kai to take the chance. Drew admitted there were no guarantees, but Kia knew that.
"If the procedure doesn't work out, I'm guessing the benevolent godfather act will disappear," Curtis accused.
Trina met with Assistant District Attorney Turner at the Metro Court. Turner had questions about what happened with Emma at the Q crypt. Trina was surprised to hear that Emma had a troubling police record. "With all due respect, why is a New York ADA so concerned with something that happened all the way across the country?" Trina asked.
Turner told Trina she was worried that Anna was using her connections to shield Emma and felt that warranted an investigation. "It sounds to me like you have an issue with Anna Devane, not Emma, and I have no connection with Anna so I can't help you," Trina said before walking away.
Tuner met with Sonny next. She told Sonny she was impressed with how he always came out on top, even after countless arrests and several convictions. "You've even alignd yourself with both the mayor and the police commissioner," she said. "What can I say? People like me," Sonny smiled.
