Welcome to the General Hospital Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:

What happened on General Hospital

Not too long ago, it seemed pretty clear that Sonny knew that Gio was Brook Lynn and Dante's son, and therefore, his grandson. His sweet affection for a random kid from Brooklyn living with the Cerullo clan was a bit odd, as was his insistence on paying for his education and setting up a trust for him. When Lois visited Sonny to talk about Gio back in March, there seemed to be a quiet understanding between them that they shared a grandchild. Lois spoke of the first time she introduced Sonny to Gio back in her parents' house in Bensonhurst, so we thought she also told him who he was, but we guess not. Sonny was as surprised as everyone else at Gio's meltdown and announcement on the Nurses' Ball stage. He even seemed outraged that Lois would keep something like this a secret for so long, but he knew Lois had to be behind it all. However, if General Hospital writers had chosen for Sonny to know, there could have been even more fallout from this reveal. Brook Lynn is set to unleash her fury on Lois next week, but we won't get those same scenes between Dante and Sonny because Sonny was apparently as in the dark as everyone else. However, we look forward to him getting in line behind everyone else to take Lois to task for her two-decade secret. Oh, what a mess it is.
