Ric asked Ava who would have altered Heather’s test results. Ava said someone wanted to keep Heather behind bars. Ric wondered if it was a lab tech or someone with more authority. Ric deduced it would have to be someone who could go in and out of every room in the hospital without being stopped. The person would have to be so invested in keeping Heather in prison that they would risk anything, Rick added.
Ric wondered if Heather had attacked someone at the hospital. Ava told him that a lot of people in Port Charles weren’t excited about running into Heather at the supermarket. Ava advised Ric that if he went after the hospital for tampering, they would bring their lawyers to fight him, and it would be a long process. If he wanted quick results, he should just chalk it up to a lab error and ask for a new test.
Ric agreed with Ava and said he didn’t need to know who had tampered with the test. Ava said that two seconds prior, he had been Columbo, and she questioned why he would suddenly ditch the idea. Ric said he had just got new information, and he noted that Ava didn’t want him to find out who had done it. He told Ava he knew her well enough to know she wouldn’t stick her neck out for anybody. “This person must mean a lot to you,” Ric said. He told Ava he would figure out Heather’s case with what he already had.
Trina saw Gio playing his violin outside of Bobbie’s and threw a dollar in his case. He told her that he enjoyed playing outside with all the noises of people and nature around, as it made him feel like he was part of a big orchestra that people forgot to listen to.

Trina asked if she could rebook Gio at the gallery. Gio thanked Trina for the offer but said he had to pass. Gio said he knew how much Trina cared about Ava. “She pushed Uncle Sonny’s pregnant daughter out the window and killed her baby. I’d never work for that woman now,” Gio said. Gio said that maybe if Ava was cleared, he would consider it. Trina said it was fine; she could find someone else and would never ask Gio again.
Inside Bobbie’s, Trina called ads to find a replacement for Gio. Outside, Josslyn walked up and invited Gio to hang out with her and Trina. Gio said he doubted that Trina would want him to be there. He explained that he and Trina didn’t see eye to eye about something, and neither would change their mind. Josslyn didn’t think that sounded like Trina, as she was usually open-minded. Gio told her the argument, and Josslyn insisted he go inside with her.
Josslyn brought Gio and Trina together and got them to hash out their differences. Josslyn warned Gio and Trina to let Sonny and Ava fight their own battles. Trina asked Gio to consider Kristina’s fall an accident until it was proven otherwise. Gio agreed that he hadn't been in the room and would wait for a judge to decide. As for playing at the gallery, Gio said he would not do it for Ava, but he would for Trina.
Trina joked that she might have replaced him already, but then she admitted the musician she had found was sketchy. Trina said she would be very happy if Gio reconsidered. Gio happily accepted the offer. “And my work here is done,” Josslyn said.
Brook Lynn and Chase were enjoying a moment of privacy at home when Violet’s school notified them that Violet was being sent home. Violet’s teacher had witnessed Violet hitting a boy in her class. Brook Lynn and Chase went to pick up Violet.
When Brook Lynn, Chase, and Violet got home, they wanted to talk about what had happened. Violet explained that she had gotten into an argument with a boy named Garth. Violet said that Garth had called her dad a drunk, and she had hit him. During their argument, Garth had spilled his drink on Violet, and she was wearing a shirt that her dad had bought her. Brook Lynn said she would get the stain out and sent Violet to change her shirt.
Brook Lynn checked the school directory for Garth’s parents so that they could drive over and confront the parents. Chase suggested that there would always be another Garth, and they should teach Violet how to deal with the next time. Chase suggested that Violet missed Finn more than they realized. Brook Lynn agreed it could be Violet’s way of crying out for help.
“Garth shouldn’t have done what he did, but your dad wouldn’t want you to hit someone, either,” Chase explained to Violet. Chase asked Violet to believe in her dad. Brook Lynn had a message from the school requesting to speak to Violet’s guardian. Violet wondered if she was going to be in trouble. Chase told her that even when one had a good reason for doing something, there were consequences for breaking the rules.
Lucky went to see Sonny and said he could never repay Anna, Jason, and Carly for being able to get him back to Port Charles. Sonny said he knew Lucky had been through hell, even with their help, and Sonny said Luke would be proud. Lucky said his dad would not be proud, as Lucky should have been there all along.
Sonny asked if Lucky would judge Aiden if he had messed up. Lucky said he wouldn't. Sonny said Luke wouldn’t judge Lucky, either, because Luke loved him. Sonny told Lucky not to beat himself up. He said that Lucky was there, and that was all that mattered. Lucky said he had a lot of work to do, and not just the stuff with Lulu. Lucky said that he had been to some of the most dangerous places in the world, and there he was in Port Charles, afraid to see his own son.
Lucky didn’t even know if Aiden wanted to see him, as he hadn’t made contact in a long time. Sonny asked if Lucky cared what Luke thought of him. “More than anyone,” Lucky said. Sonny advised Lucky to keep that thought at the front of his mind. Lucky said he was going to go see Aiden, but he would swing by the hospital to check on Lulu and Isaiah first. Sonny said he was glad Lucky was back. “Me, too. It feels good,” Lucky said. “That means you’re supposed to be here,” Sonny said.
Carly was explaining to Josslyn about Lulu’s transplant when Lucas arrived. They were excited to see each other. Josslyn was just leaving, but they all promised to catch up together later. Lucas told Carly he liked Boston but worked all the time. Carly noted that it had to be hard for him to be in Port Charles after everything that had happened. Carly said she knew he was excited about his new job at the hospital, but she wondered if he was up for it.
Lucas said he hadn't overthoguht it and had just applied. He thought it was the universe telling him he couldn’t run away forever, and he didn’t want to be that type of guy. Lucas said he knew he would never be Wiley’s uncle, but he knew he could be a great uncle. Carly wondered if Lucas had been in touch with Brad. Lucas said he had not and wasn’t going to be. “Speaking of relationships that are ethically challenged, what’s this I hear about you and Sonny?” Lucas asked Carly.
Carly said the situation with her and Sonny was complicated, and she asked that they pause that topic. He wondered about Ava and Kristina. Carly said that was a whole other mess. Lucas told Carly he needed to go to the hospital to fill out forms. Carly said she was very happy he was home.
At the hospital, Lucky asked Isaiah if Port Charles was growing on him. Isaiah said Lucky should tell him about his life so Isaiah didn’t stick his foot in his mouth. Lucky realized Isaiah had met Elizabeth. Isaiah asked if Aiden knew what Lucky had been doing. Lucky said he didn’t want to scare his son. Isaiah offered to tell Aiden that Lucky had been helping people. Lucky said he might take Isaiah up on that at some point.
Lucky said he was waiting to find out if he was a match and was worried about the surgeries. Isaiah explained that Lucky would need a week in the hospital and another six to eight weeks of recovery after the transplant. Isaiah said it was risky, and there was no such thing as a routine transplant surgery. Isaiah said he would give advice and support but wouldn’t operate again. Lucky said he would still be in the desert without Isaiah, and from that point on, whatever the risks, it would be on Lucky.
Portia was leaving Trina a voice message when Ava entered her office. Ava told Portia that Ric Lansing was representing both her and Heather. Ava shared that Ric had gotten four blood tests done, and one had shown that Heather’s cobalt levels were elevated. Portia shrugged it off, but Ava said that the test with different results came from General Hospital. Ava said if it was a problem, they could do another test. Ava said Ric had concluded that someone at GH had tampered with the test, someone with access and an interest in keeping Heather in prison. “Someone like me?” Portia asked.
Ava said she would pull strings, bribe, and even kill someone to protect her daughter, and she would sleep very well at night after. Portia said they were different, but Ava disagreed. She told Portia that Trina never needed to know. Ava said Trina was getting her life back and, for the first time in a long time, was looking at the future. Ava said Trina didn’t need to see her mom’s future crash and burn because Portia had helped her. Ava warned that if she could figure out what Portia had done, someone else could, too. “Like it or not, you’re going to need my help,” Ava said.
Portia wondered what was in it for Ava to help her. Ava said Trina would think it was her fault, and Ava was adamant that Trina had been through enough. Portia worried that Brad was working in the lab and already suspected her. Ava advised Portia to lie low. Ava thought she could keep Ric away. Portia didn’t think it would work. “Ric Lansing will get Heather out of prison. We have to stop him,” Portia said.
Ric called Ava while she was with Portia and told her he had filed a summary motion. Ric had requested that the conviction be overturned immediately and said there was a good chance it would be. Ric assured Ava that her mystery friend would remain a mystery.
Lucas found Brad in the lab. He told Brad he was back, but not for Brad’s sake. Lucas said he wanted to make some things clear. Lucas told Brad that if they had to speak to one another, it would only be about work. There would be no catching up or hashing things out, Lucas added. Lucas said he was moving on with his life, but that did not include Brad.
Brad understood and said Lucas probably hated him. Lucas said it would be easier if he did, but he felt sorry for Brad. Lucas said he knew Brad had been drawn into a nightmare, but it was nothing that he wanted to go through again. Lucas said goodbye and walked out.
Sonny told Carly that Lucky had stopped by. Carly said she knew Alexis was protecting Kristina. She said Alexis didn’t need to be punished for a crime she hadn't committed. Sonny said he had hired Martin to get her cleared. Carly wondered if Sonny would let Alexis go to trial. Sonny was sure it would fall apart before that happened.
Carly said she didn’t want anyone to go down for Cates's murder. Carly told Sonny that the world was a better place without Jagger in it. She asked if Sonny had a plan to protect Alexis. Sonny said they needed to find the gun that Alexis had thrown away. Sonny shared that if they didn’t find the gun, he would prove that Alexis hadn't killed Cates. “I’ll turn myself in,” Sonny said.
