AMC alum Jennifer Bassey joins GH

All My Children alum Jennifer Bassey (ex-Marian Colby) is heading to General Hospital.

She played one of the world's most sultry mothers on All My Children, and now Jennifer Bassey (ex-Marian Colby) is bringing her talents to General Hospital.

Soap Opera Digest reports the Illinois native has joined the ABC soap opera in a role that remains a mystery at this time. It's also unclear when Bassey will begin airing in Port Charles, but rumor has it she'll be appearing just in time for summer storylines.

The actress, who appeared on-again-off-again in AMC's Pine Valley from 1983 to 2011, announced her engagement to screenwriter Luther Davies in November of last year. To read about her insanely sweet love-after-love romance, click here.

UPDATE (May 26, 2017): Jennifer Bassey chatted with Digest about her new role -- but she is still tight-lipped about who she will be playing. "I love the role and I'm having a lot of fun working on it. I've never been so excited!" Bassey adds that when GH reached out to her she "was just jumping up and down" and "couldn't believe it."
