Rapper-turned-fashion-icon A$AP Rocky has teamed up with the Italian-based eyewear luxury brand Ray-Ban for the release of “The Blacked Out” sunglasses collection. This collaborative effort between the 36-year-old rapper and Ray-Ban comes shortly after the father of two was announced as the creative director of the brand on February 21, 2025.

The Blacked Out collection is a fresh reimagination of some of Ray-ban’s most coveted designs, including the Mega Wayfarer, Mega Balorama, and Mega Clubmaster. These iterations designed by A$AP Rocky exude a futuristic aesthetic yet maintain the elegance that comes with their predecessors.

Some added features include the gold-coated details and ultra-black lenses, coupled with ASAP’s brand name “AWGE” embossed on the temple tip area of the glasses.

More details on A$AP Rocky’s collaboration with Ray-ban

ASAP Rocky’s appointment as creative director of the brand is a testament to the rapper’s influence in fashion and pop culture as a whole. Rocky celebrated this achievement in grand style by hosting a dinner party during the 2025 Milan Fashion Week held in February. During the event, the rapper exhibited some of his designs, which were showcased on silver-plated mannequin busts.

The exhibited shades paid homage to Y2K fashion, which could be seen in their oversized silhouette, with some resembling Ski goggles. Aside from the noticeably exaggerated sizes, the frame of the shades also came in eye-catching color schemes.

In the showcase, notable pop figures, including Romeo Beckham, Ice Spice, Charli D’Amelio, and Brent Faiyaz, were spotted.
