Charli XCX 'BRAT' billboards have been spotted in cities such as Chicago, Austin, and Minneapolis as well as cities such as Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan, and Manchester, UK. The green background ad is emblematic of the singer's album of the same name and its cover.
These ads have led to speculation by fans that a world tour may be in the works by the singer, as exemplified by the tweet below:
"NOT OVER YET! BRAT WORLD TOUR COMING SOON."
Others continued pointing out the cities that were spotted with billboards or other BRAT ads, while some listed out the cities they wished the hypothetical tour to make its way to:
"Enterprise Center in St. Louis just lit up in Brat green too!", one netizen stated.
"Manila, PH when?", asked another netizen.
"BRAT WOLRD TOUR IN FORTALEZA", one fan speculated.
"Really hope she comes to Australia for this world tour", another fan reacted.
"I know it’s probably not going to happen but IM MANIFESTING AN SAN ANTONIO DATE", one commentor added.
As of the writing of this article, neither the singer nor her representatives have confirmed that a world tour is in the planning stages. Interested patrons will need to regularly check the singer's official website or socials for updates regarding the same.
Charli XCX released her album Brat in June 2024
Charli XCX released her sixth studio album, Brat, on June 7, 2024. The singer spoke about the album's core themes and tones in an interview with Billboard that appeared on Billboard's issue of July 20, 2024, stating:
“I like the marketing of pop music more than I am interested in actual pop music. I think we’ve been living in this world now for a while where there’s this desire to appeal to the most people, to have the biggest smile and be the nicest person with the widest appeal. But desire is cultivated by being a little bit hard to reach, a little bit separate."
Charli XCX continued:
"That’s why people want to wait in a queue at f–king Supreme, you know what I mean? With brat, it was really interesting to just do things for the fan base and make that feel exclusive — but then once you’re in the club, it’s actually very inclusive. Actually, everyone can join the club."
Charli XCX continued:
"It’s just that everybody joins at slightly different times in slightly different ways — whether that be on my private Instagram posts, or the 400-person Boiler Room, or a random cinema screening of a new music video in L.A., or a text message from me."
Earlier on in the interview, the singer's creative director, Imogene Strauss, elaborated on the album's cover, stating:
"We did hundreds of versions of the cover. We knew it was going to be green, but the conversations around the shade of green were weeks long… There’s so many versions that existed before the final. We analyzed every single element: where has this color been used before, what are its associations, who reacts to it and how.”
Charli XCX is currently set to perform a few shows in the UK as part of her Brat UK Arena tour in November and December 2024. This will be followed by her festival performances in 2025 in festivals such as Laneway Festival in Australia and Primavera Porto in Portugal.
