The King of Kings has received a rating of A+ CinemaScore.

Ever since CinemaScore came into existence in 1978, a total number of 128 films have been endowed with this distinguished rating since the year 1979. Now, The King of Kings also joins the league.

As per IMDb, some of the films that have received an A+ score include E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (1982), Rocky III (1982), Dead Poets Society (1989), Aladdin (1992), Schindler's List (1993), The Lion King (1994), Avengers: Endgame (2019), and many others.

On the official website of CinemaScore, amongst the latest releases, another film that has been awarded this rating is the Tracie Laymon directorial and Barbie Ferreira and John Leguizamo starrer Bob Trevino Likes It (2024).

The films that were released with The King of Kings this week, namely The Amateur, Drop, and Warfare, have received CinemaScore ratings of B+, B, and A- respectively.

Along with the impressive rating at CinemaScore, the film has garnered an aggregate of 63% at Rotten Tomatoes and a rating of 6.9/10 at IMDb. At the Popcornmeter, though, the rating rises up to 97%.

As per their official website, CinemaScore has been created with the idea for the cinemagoers to articulate our judgment upon watching a film. It only centers around the discourses that the audiences make, rather than trained film critics. So audiences are given to pick between the options ranging from A+ to F in order to rate a film, purely based on their own judgment.

So in that way, CinemaScore focuses on the voice of the viewers, and a rating is built based on the collective public consensus.
