The highly anticipated James Gunn's Superman is soon going to be released on 11th July 2025. But there is a scene that did not make it to its final cut.

In a recent conversation at Jake's Takes, two of the cast members of the film, Sara Sampaio and María Gabriela de Faría, revealed a particular scene with Krypto the dog that could be quite controversial in nature. It is the scene where Ultraman strikes a punch at our own little Krypto.

Along with them, the film stars David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, and many others. The role of Krypto is essayed by dog actor Jolene. This film explores the journey of Superman, who is rediscovering and going back to his legacy as he lives the secret life of a human as Clark Kent.

Let us find out more about what the cast of Superman revealed about the scene that got chopped in the final cut.

While speaking to Jake Hamilton at the Jake's Takes interview, Superman cast members María Gabriela de Faría and Sara Sampaio spoke about a specific scene that did not make it to the final cut as a result of a negative test screening. In the film, de Faría essays the role of Angela Spica, a.k.a. The Engineer, and Sampaio portrays Eve Teschmacher.

In the interview, Hamilton asks the actors about a particular scene, which was brutal to Krypto, by asking:

"There's a scene where you're not the kindest to Krypto and out loud I heard someone go, "Oh, hell no."

Upon which, María Gabriela de Faría responds with a laugh and says:

"Oh that's awesome."

Then Sara Sampaio mentions the chopped scene by saying:

"They actually cut a worse scene from..."

And de Faría says:

"That's right. That's right."

To which Sampaio adds by mentioning how she and her fellow actor, Nicholas Hoult, felt about the cut, as she mentions:

"Me and Nick [Hoult] were a little bit pissed about it, but it's okay."

Further into the conversation, Sara Sampaio then reveals details about the scene that got rejected during the test screening. The sequence featured a confrontation scene between Ultraman and Krypto, where the pup gets struck by Ultraman as he lands a punch on Krypto. Sampaio says:

"Well, they cut Ultraman punching Krypto. Because, apparently, it did really bad in the test screening."

To which María Gabriela de Faría adds by mentioning:

"It's not okay. You can't punch a dog. You can't punch, I... Okay. No, I did not punch the dog. The dog attacked me first."

Well, this conversation gives us an insight into the presence of some real high-stakes action scenes that are going to happen in the film. It is not limited only to Superman and the villains, but Krypto also joins him in the battle, quite literally. Nonetheless, if the cut scene had been included in the film, it could have been unsettling and uncomfortable for many people to watch the adorable dog getting attacked.
