The latest buzz around Spider-Man: Brand New Day is that Spidey and Frank Castle are forced to team up to take down none other than Hulk. It was officially confirmed on June 20, 2025, that Bernthal is reprising his role in the upcoming Spider-Man movie. Several fan theories, based on the rumors about Hulk's involvement in the movie, posit that the two will be forced to team up to bring down Banner's alter ego.
Now, this theory has been given a bit of credibility by renowned internet scooper Daniel Richtman recently. However, it must be noted that for now, Hulk's involvement in Spider-Man: Brand New Day hasn't been officially confirmed.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day's Hulk Rumor explained
Rumors of Jade Giant's involvement with Brand New Day started with a report published by Nexus Point News on May 26, 2025. This rumor gained new traction when Brett Pawlak, Spider-Man: Brand New Day's DP, posted some images on his Pinterest account featuring Hulk and Spider-Man. It isn't surprising that those images are inaccessible for now.
But the most popular aspect of this rumor is not that Hulk is returning, but that Brand New Day will feature the return of the savage Hulk, who was last seen in Avengers: Infinity War. It was revealed in Avengers: Endgame that Bruce Banner merged his two sides to form Smart Hulk. This Hulk is someone with the strength and body of the Hulk but retains the intelligence and speech patterns of Bruce Banner.
Some fans didn't like the abrupt shift in Hulk's character, thus were hoping for the return of the angry Hulk that fans saw in the MCU between 2012 and 2018. If Spider-Man: Brand New Day indeed featured a savage Hulk, then the movie might be about Frank and Spidey collaborating to stop Bruce Banner's dangerous alter-ego.
What is Spider-Man: Brand New Day about?
As of today, we don't know much about this fourth Spidey flick except for its title, Brand New Day, and the actors involved in the movie. It is expected that the film will explore Peter Parker navigating a new world that has forgotten him and his secret. Producer Amy Pascal hinted at something similar during her appearance in Deadline's Behind the Lens podcast in 2024:
"We have to deal with the fact that he decided he was going to give up being Peter Parker, and that he was going to focus on being Spider-Man because being Peter Parker was too hard. So that’s what the movie is about."
Based on the quote above, we can ascertain that Peter is in a darker place in the movie because he has lost everything, including Aunt May. Moreover, he is all alone because MJ and Ned have forgotten his secret. Peter Parker struggles with loneliness and growing darkness — meeting Frank Castle is the last thing that he needs.
The ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home set Peter up to be in a lonelier and darker place. Frank Castle's inclusion in the fourth movie comes with many interesting dramatic storytelling opportunities.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will swing into cinema halls across the world on July 31, 2026.
