The Phoenix Critics Circle (PCC) has officially announced its 2025 winners. The awards were unveiled on December 11, 2025, at the Phoenix Film Festival Event and Ticket Center.
This year, the PCC 2025 highlight was mainly on Paul Thomas Anderson's One Battle After Another, which led the PCC nomination board. It eventually dominated the winners list with six awards, including Best Picture and Best Director.
In performance categories, Timothée Chalamet and Jessie Buckley stood out as they took home Best Actor and Best Actress for Marty Supreme and Hamnet, respectively. The PCC also recognized veteran filmmaker David Lynch as the recipient of its Lifetime Achievement in Filmmaking Award. It additionally honored Graham Greene for his contribution to Native American representation in cinema.
Timothée Chalamet recently made headlines when he dodged questions about whether he might secretly be the masked British rapper EsDeeKid. His answer was:
"I got no comment on that. Two words: All will be revealed in due time. That was a little more than two words."
His upcoming sports drama, Marty Supreme, will be officially released on December 25, 2025.
Announcing its 2025 nominees, PCC issued an official press release earlier, mentioning:
"Phoenix Critics Circle members have narrowed the films from 2025 to the top nominees in each category. Voting is underway for the winners, and they will be announced the evening of Thursday, December 11th, 2025, at the annual Phoenix Critics Circle Awards Party at the Phoenix Film Festival Event and Ticket Center. The Phoenix Critics Circle is established as an association for professional film critique and analysis. Administered by the non-profit Phoenix Film Foundation, the Phoenix Critics Circle is committed to the progression and preservation of film and is composed of print, television, radio and internet film critics from Arizona."
