CBS Studios and Stan are back with another homecoming film Nugget Is Dead? A Christmas Story revolving around the Christmas chronicles of the Stool family as their pet dog Nugget gets sick. As per reports, the movie premiered on Stan on November 21, 2024.
Nugget Is Dead? A Christmas Story centers on a chaotic family whose members are forced to unite during the holiday season, an occasion where they get to mend their strained relationships. Vic Zerbst will reportedly join the lead cast alongside co-stars Jenna Owen and Damien Garvey.

Stan has continued the tradition of Christmas drama and comedy films after the success of similar movies like Christmas on the Farm, Christmas Ransom, A Sunburnt Christmas, and Jones Family Christmas. The official synopsis of Nugget Is Dead? A Christmas Story reads:
"When her beloved family dog gets sick during Christmas time, Steph Stoll must abandon her holiday plans and return to her small Australian hometown to confront the chaos of her family."
How to watch Nugget Is Dead: A Christmas Story?
Nugget Is Dead? A Christmas Story is currently streaming on Stan. The movie will once again premiere on CBS on Dec. 14, 2024, at 7 p.m. ET and will also be available on video-on-demand services of Paramount Plus.
How does protagonist Steph reunite with her family?
As the story goes, the puppy Nugget was introduced to the Stool family back in the Christmas of 2010. But things have changed a lot over the years.
The eldest among the kids, Steph Stoll (played by Vic Zerbst), does not stay with her family anymore. She has also decided to not go home over the holidays.
However, a comic sequence breaks the tension where we see that Steph gets a call from her mother three days before Christmas and says in a worried tone, 'Nugget is dead!'. Soon after, it is realized that Nugget is actually not dead but may be sick.
As commotion builds up, we see the family members trying out different ways to figure out what is wrong with Nugget. In the meantime, Steph stays on the call and hears all of it. So, she decides to return to her hometown in Australia, worried about her beloved dog as well as her chaotic family.
Who is in the cast of Nugget Is Dead: A Christmas Story?
Lead star Vic Zerbst will play the eldest kid, Steph Stool, in Nugget Is Dead? A Christmas Story. She has also co-written the movie along with Jenna Owen, who is in the cast as well. Gia Cardes, known for her work in My Big Fat Greek Wedding, will play the role of Jodie Stool.
