The Stan Lee: The Final Chapter trailer was recently dropped by Jon Bolerjack, capturing the final years of the Marvel legend.
The clip features Bolerjack and multiple other comic book artists speaking about projects centered around the last four years of the former Marvel editor-in-chief. The video displays snippets of Bolerjack’s relationship with Stan and also features the latter’s former manager, Mac 'Max' Anderson.
Lee fired his longtime manager/bodyguard in February 2018, along with a nurse named Linda Sanchez. After the comic book icon’s death, his daughter Joan Celia Lee, aka J.C., sued Max Anderson in 2019. In the suit, she accused Max of elder abuse and breach of fiduciary duty while also leveling “seven charges of breach of contract” against him.
Anderson was not the only defendant, as his two alleged co-conspirators – Derek Tan and Linda Sanchez – were also sued by J.C. for allegedly taking “financial advantage” of Stan Lee. She also told Page Six,
“Anyone who loved my father and respected his work should see Max Anderson as we do. We believe he is a crook who lied to my father and stole from, and manipulated, him every chance he could. We intend to prove this in court.”
J.C. further added,
“My father was a loving and trusting man. He was all about love. He should never have been in business with a man like Max Anderson.”
Per TMZ, Stan Lee and J.C. had reportedly called in cops to remove Anderson from their LA home after he was fired. The former manager reportedly worked for Lee for years and handled his memorabilia business. He was even snapped with the Spider-Man co-creator at different events.
Stan Lee: The Final Chapter delves into the alleged elder abuse and mistreatment of the comic book legend

The former associate of the ex-Marvel editor-in-chief dropped the trailer for his documentary, making claims of exploitation and abuse. Bolerjack, Lee’s friend and close confidant, served as his assistant during the last four years of his life. Being a part of Stan’s inner circle, Jon got the opportunity to film the Black Panther co-creator in his final days.
In the trailer, the filmmaker claims to uncover the mistreatment and manipulation of Stan Lee through video proof and witnesses. The said documentary features Royal Thomas, who succeeded Stan as Marvel editor-in-chief. Rob Liefeld, known for creating Deadpool, was also interviewed about the Marvel Comics legend.
After the trailer, Bolerjack unveiled a $300,000 Kickstarter campaign for the project. The fundraiser, which ends on April 11, 2025, has received over $42K as of this writing.
