Laurie Feig is weighing in on the Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni feud. Amid the premiere of Lively’s Another Simple Favor at SXSW on March 7, Laurie has been defending Lively in online discussions over the latter's accusations and counter-accusations against Baldoni.

Laurie Feig, who has commented in support of Blake Lively and Another Simple Favor on Instagram, is the wife of the film's director Paul Feig. He had also directed the first installment of the franchise, A Simple Favor, which released in 2018.

A producer who has worked on Jordan Ledy’s It’s Better in Italian, Laurie Feig is a frequent sight on red carpets while supporting her husband’s releases, which include the Kristen Wiig-starrer Bridesmaids, and Spy featuring Melissa McCarthy.

Three days ago, social media creator Elsrich posted a video to Instagram highlighting Laurie Feig’s comments defending Blake Lively, as netizens called for boycotting the actress and her new film.

Feig’s now-deleted comments showed her rallying in favor of Lively, whose recent lawsuit against It Ends with Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni has been generating heat. In a comment replying to netizens talking about boycotting Another Simple Favor, Laurie Feig wrote:

“Blake has already been paid. It’s on Amazon. Boycotting film will not hurt Blake. It’s a great film and hundreds of people worked super hard to make it great. So enjoy it. Save your energy and don’t hate a film.”

In another comment, Laurie Feig accused Lively’s online detractors, writing:

“Love that people post lies and then are too cowardly to allow replies. All bots!!”

Replying to another netizen who alleged that Lively falsely accused Baldoni, she wrote:

“blake was the victim here. Get the facts. Justins wife is probably horrified by her husband.”

At the premiere of Another Simple Favor at SXSW, Feig’s appearance had stoked controversy. According to the Daily Mail, Lively’s detractors spotted the lead actress with Laurie Feig, who appeared to be getting a selfie with an unidentified person across the barriers.

Lively was accused of setting the entire moment up, as her critics claimed that she had planted Feig as a fan to counter negative publicity at the event, due to the presence of a Baldoni fan who was holding up a sign stating: 'Justice for Justin Baldoni. Blake lied.'

The Daily Mail report stated that the moment was not a set-up. Laurie Feig and Blake Lively had a barrier between them because it was Lively who had stepped across to the fan area to greet her supporters and sign autographs. Feig was seen standing on the red carpet. The report showed images of Feig and Lively deep in conversation when a festival participant picked up his phone to get a selfie with the actress. Feig ultimately also posed alongside Lively and the festival badge holder.

About Laurie Feig

Although Laurie Feig has largely kept her private life under wraps, we know of her likes and dislikes through her husband, Paul. The couple, who tied the knot in 1994, have a pet dog named Buster, according to Paul Feig's profile on The Hollywood Reporter.

Her husband calls Laurie Feig by a delightful nickname — Tipsy Faunt, according to C Magazine. Paul Feig, who ran a cocktail livestream hour during the COVID-19 lockdown, created and dedicated a special drink called The Squeaky Door, to his wife. He joked with C Magazine that the name was inspired by the sound of Laurie Feig entering the kitchen.

As per an interview with the Michelin Guide, the Feigs are huge lovers of all things London. Paul described London’s MiMi Mei Fair as being the couple’s preferred spot for a date night in the city. Paul also spoke about London’s The Twenty Two being his and his wife’s favorite club.

The Feigs are a philanthropic couple. In February, It Gets Better Project, an LGBTQ+ non profit, had announced that Paul and Laurie Feig donated a considerable amount of money to the organization.

Paul Feig's new film Another Simple Favor is set to launch on Amazon Prime Video on May 1. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether the ongoing lawsuits between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni impact the performance of the film or not.
