Liam Neeson and the late Natasha Richardson had two children together before her tragic demise: boys Michaél and Daniel.

Daniel, their youngest, is now officially engaged to his girlfriend of almost a decade, Natalie Ackerman. He proposed to Ackerman on a sailboat cruise around New York City and shared an official statement about the news with People Magazine:

“Yesterday I got to ask my best friend to join me on this journey called life. I could write novels on why I love Natalie, but there’s something deeper, something so cosmic about our relationship that I know we’re meant to be in this universe together.”

Then, in a touching moment, Daniel also went as far as comparing his partner to his late mother, saying:

“I see my mother in Nat, I see life in Nat, and reality just got a whole lot sweeter with a ring on it. Love wins!”

Neeson also shared the news with his fans and friends on social media via Instagram.

Daniel Neeson and Natalie Ackerman met at Tulane University in New Orleans, where they were studying digital media production and business, respectively. The pair have remained together ever since. For his part, Daniel has grown into the role of a fledgling entrepreneur. He even launched an eco-friendly, charitable clothing line called Pine Outfitters as a junior at Tulane in 2022.

Speaking on his father, Liam Neeson’s, support, Daniel shared with People Magazine that his dad is:

“Not just a supportive father but he’s been very supportive in terms of the business as well.”

Daniel Neeson also co-founded De Nada Tequila in 2021 alongside friend Adam Millman. It is where both he and his fiancée, Natalie Ackerman, are currently working. His father, Liam Neeson, has even promoted it in various media interactions, including on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.

Daniel was only 12 years old when he lost his mother, and she remains close to his heart. As such, mentioning his fiancée in the same breath is the highest of compliments he could bestow on his future life partner.

In March 2024, he shared a touching tribute to his mother, Natasha Richardson, via Instagram. He uploaded a black and white image of his mother, a former model, accompanied by a touching caption which reads:

"I look forward to re uniting one day but for now I take solace in knowing you’re beside me every step of the way. Hopefully, I’m making you proud.”

The caption goes on to mention Daniel's margarita-making skills, something he thinks would be a source of pride for his mother. Liam Neeson has yet to comment publicly on the engagement.
