Actor Mark Hamill called his wife, Marilou Hamill, a clever person.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, published on August 16, Mark said he wanted to leave the US after Trump was re-elected. However, he said his wife had a different way of convincing him to stay back. He asked his wife to choose between Ireland and London, where they could go and settle.

Recalling her words, Mark said:

“She didn’t respond right away but a week later she said, ‘I’m surprised you would allow him to force you out of your own country.’ That son of a b*tch, I thought. I’m not leaving.”

Marilou Hamill worked as a dental hygienist in California, People Magazine reported. She studied dental hygiene at Parkland College. Her LinkedIn profile mentions that she worked as a CFO at Mark Hamill’s business ventures.

Speaking about his wife in the interview, remembered first meeting her when she worked as a dental hygienist and he went to get his teeth cleaned. From the start, he liked her a lot and asked her out.

Hamill said when they saw the movie Annie Hall together, he realized she had a good sense of humor, which made her feel like a calm and happy presence in the middle of his busy life. The couple tied the knot in 1978.

Mark Hamill said his three children lived close by, so they could visit often. He enjoyed spending time with his three dogs, relaxing in the backyard with books, and being with his wife, Marilou.

According to People Magazine, Mark and Marilou decided to take some time off from their relationship. It was when Mark Hamill was at the peak of his fame in Star Wars. He told the outlet that he wanted to experience fame and date showgirls in Las Vegas, which felt exciting for a short period.

However, after a while, the actor realized he wanted something more meaningful, like stability and a family. Marilou Hamill also said:

“I ran my own life. But all the time I thought I was good for him, so I was hoping we'd get back together.”

The couple also has pet dogs. In 2021, Mark Hamill shared an Instagram post introducing the newest member of their family, a small puppy named Molly Mae Hamill. The photos showed Marilou holding and cuddling the dog.

Speaking to Good Morning America in 2018, Marilou Hamill said that they had stayed away from Hollywood life since they didn’t live in the city or attend parties. She also mentioned that the break between Star Wars films was good because it gave them time to focus on raising their family.
