Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick are a popular couple in the film industry. While the two are usually private about their personal lives, Bacon recently shared some of his parenting tips revealing how he and his wife kept their children away from fame for a long time.
For the unversed, the couple, who tied the knot in 1988, have two children: Travis, 35, and Sosie, 33. Like their parents, Travis and Sosie have opted for careers in the entertainment industry.
Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick welcomed their first child, a son who they named Travis, in June 1989, in Los Angeles. The 35-year-old has followed the path of his famous father and chosen a career in making music. According to his Instagram handle, he is a musician, producer, and composer.
While the Footloose star has a band named The Bacon Brothers with his brother Michael Bacon, Travis is the frontman of an industrial band named CONTRACULT Collective.
Sosie Bacon is the second and youngest child of Bacon and Sedgwick who was born in March 1992. From an early age, Sosie began acting in movies and made her debut with her father Kevin Bacon's 2005 directorial Loverboy. She played the younger version of her mother's character as her father thought she would be perfect for the role.

After growing up, Sosie landed a number of notable roles in several movies and shows, including 13 Reasons Why, Mare Of Easttown, Narcos: Mexico, and Here And Now.
She has also made a good name in the industry and was crowned Miss Golden Globe (now called Golden Globe Ambassador) in 2013.
Kevin Bacon throws light on his parenting style
Kevin Bacon is all set to appear on the April 3 episode of Mythical Kitchen's Last Meals. According to a clip shared with People Magazine, Bacon told host Josh Scherer how he and his wife dealt with fame while raising their kids.
In the clip, Bacon revealed that neither he nor his wife took their kids to their movie premieres. They also did not show their kids their work.
"When it came to promoting my own fame and taking my kids to premieres and making them watch my movies and showing them an article in the paper…we really didn’t do that. We really avoided it. I think we really felt like it would be nice for them to have some…we knew how weird this life was."
Bacon further called it a "weird way to live" to know that whenever a famous person steps out of their home, people are going to know them or "have some kind of point of you about you from a piece of work that you’ve done."
"Because they didn’t choose it. That’s the thing. When it comes to fame, I’ve nobody to blame but myself. It was my thing. I’m the one that fought tooth and nail for it. But for them, it’s something that’s thrust upon them," Kevin Bacon added.
As Bacon continued to talk about his parenting, he added how his kids did not sign up for the fame that they got from a young age. Therefore, he chose to "let them figure out their own thing." However, he still tells his kids to let him know if they find their lives in the industry troubling or sitting with a therapist.
