Retired actress June Lockhart recently turned 100 on June 25, 2025. The veteran actress, Lockhart, who began her acting career in the 1930s with films such as A Christmas Carol and Meet Me in St. Louis, eventually shifted to television. While June Lockhart was a prominent face on television, she also did stage acting.

June Lockhart, who belonged to the Golden Age of Hollywood, happens to be one of the few remaining stars of that era. Widely known for her role as Ruth Martin in the 1954 TV series Lassie, Lockhart played the character for six years from 1958 to 1964. The story of the classic television show revolves around a smart Rough Collie dog named Lassie, who is heroic in nature and helps her human owners and other people.

June Lockhart might have been away from the spotlight, but her magnificent legacy continues to inspire people as it thrives in her numerous years of exceptional work on film, television, and the stage.

The last acting role of the veteran actress was in one of the 2021 episodes of Netflix's remake of sci-fi series Lost in Space, where she provided her voice for Alpha Control. However, people might have wondered where she is now. Well, according to Hello Magazine, June Lockhart resides in New York and lives in a home that she bought several years ago. She also raised her family there.

Actor Bill Mumy, who worked with June Lockhart in the 1965 sci-fi series Lost in Space, while speaking with ReMind Magazine about the veteran actress, confirmed that she is active and lives at her home. Mumy said:

"June is at home. She has two assistants. She's still in her own home."

While there is currently not much information about her home life, June Lockhart has stopped making public appearances. The last time she was seen publicly was in March 2015 at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce's 94th Annual Installation & Lifetime Achievement Awards Luncheon.

When June's co-star from Lost in Space, Bill Mumy, was asked about her current health during his interview with ReMind Magazine, he confirmed that she was pretty healthy and in good spirits. Mumy further added:

"She follows the politics, she reads the news, but she doesn't talk on the phone and she doesn't — obviously — she's not going to put on all her makeup and go out and do a convention or anything anymore, but she's, well, she's fine. She's healthy. "

Jon Provost, who worked with Lockhart in Lassie, in a separate interview with the outlet, also confirmed that she is absolutely fine health-wise. Provost recalled a time when he was with June at an autograph show. He said:

"She put her leg up on the table, touched her head to her knee in a yoga-type stretch and sent the waiter for a glass of chardonnay after which she regaled us with tales of her storied career."

Provost continued:

"I once asked her how she stayed so young-looking. She said, 'I've had great work done and some young boyfriends'. Whatever her formula, it worked. June has always been her own person.… And now she is 100 years young. She is truly amazing in every way."
