It seems like the A-list actor, Pitt, has finally been able to put his past behind him as he has taken lessons from his previous mistakes regarding marriage and parenthood.

Regarding Brad Pitt's split from Angelina Jolie, an insider source exclusively informed US Weekly that:

"The divorce is something that had been controlling his life for so many years. He loved her and he knows he made mistakes."

The source regarding Pitt and Jolie's troublesome divorce added:

"It was such a divisive, toxic situation."

The 61-year-old Brad Pitt, who began his romantic relationship with Angeline Jolie in 2004, eventually got hitched in August 2014. Pitt and Jolie, who separated in 2016, finalized their divorce in December 2024, which was filed by the Original Sin actress.

The Fight Club star, Brad Pitt, who shares six children with Jolie, three sons, and three daughters, has a troubled relationship with the kids. His relationship with his children reportedly became strained and had a negative impact when the former couple fought legally in court over their custody following their divorce.

The insider source revealed to US Weekly that Brad Pitt's sobriety journey played a significant role in turning his life around for the better. It helped him become more responsible. The source shared:

"Ever since he stopped drinking, everything has changed."

The source went ahead and added:

Jolie "is still not in a place where she is going to forgive him or ever will."

The Seven Years in Tibet actor, Pitt, has been quite frank about his sobriety journey and has often discussed how he attended AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) meetings when he was in bad shape. During a conversation with Dax Shepard on his Armchair Expert podcast on June 23, 2025, Brad said:

"I was trying anything and everyone, anything anyone threw at me. It was a difficult time. I needed rebooting. I needed to wake the f*ck up in some areas."
