Almost eight months after Stephen A Smith shared his opinions on Serena Williams' cameo at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show, the tennis star's serial entrepreneur husband, Alexis Ohanian, has confronted the ESPN host.

Whilst appearing on the sporting network's First Take, Ohanian reportedly reprimanded Stephen A Smith for his remarks, posing,

"Stephen A. Smith, I think you had some marriage advice for me."

Smith quickly retorted,

"Listen, I didn’t. Headlines are headlines. We can get into that another time… I am not qualified. Marital advice? No, not me..."

In his coverage of the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show headlined by Kendrick Lamar this year, Stephen A Smith made a pointed comment on Serena's "participation" on the stage.

For context, as Kendrick performed Not Like Us, cameras also quickly panned to Serena, who was doing a 'crip walk, ' a distinctive style of dance-walking popularized by the street gangs of Compton, California.

Referring to the fact that Serena and Drake had dated in the past, Stephen had infamously stated,

"If I’m married and my wife is going to join trolling her ex, go back to his ass...”

Smith further added,

“Cause clearly you don’t belong with me. What you worried about him for and you’re with me? Bye. Bye.”

In a direct response to those statements, the Reddit co-founder asked Smith on First Take,

“Well I was going to ask you, because you haven’t been married before, right?”

He, then, quickly added,

“Because I give advice to plenty of founders who want to build billion-dollar companies, and the reason I do that is because I built billion-dollar companies. So I generally try to stay in my lane in the advice department.”

Ohanion had earlier shown support for his wife, Serena, on X too.

"Pretty fantastic halftime show."

However, this isn't the first time he has publicly defended his wife's decision to get onstage. When criticized by columnist Jason Whitlock, Alexis had famously retorted with the tweet embedded below:

Stephen's Response

Not anticipating the heated exchange with Alexis, Stephen dropped a short video on his YouTube channel where he 'responds' to the entrepreneur.

"I'm glad it didn't escalate of anything like that. He is her husband and loves her dearly," he said, in part.

The response video is linked below:

Alexis is yet to respond to the new video.
