English singer Conor Maynard shared an Instagram post on August 22, writing that the second paternity test for Charlotte Chilton’s child, Penelope, revealed that he had no fraternal ties with the child. In 2024, Chilton alleged that Maynard was Penelope’s father. Meanwhile, in his response posted on Instagram, the Early in the Morning singer wrote:

“Today I received the results of a second paternity test, which was requested by Charlotte Chilton regarding her baby girl, Penelope. As with the last test, this test has confirmed again that I am not Penelope's father.”

The statement went on:

“As Charlotte requested, Penelope's, Charlotte's and my DNA were all taken at a Ministry of Justice accredited DNA testing facility that was selected by Charlotte. The results are therefore conclusive.”

Conor Maynard shared that the situation had been hard for him and his family, but he felt thankful for all the support they got. He said he was relieved it was finally over and hoped the results would help everyone move forward with their lives.

The first paternity test was conducted earlier this year. On March 14, Maynard shared an Instagram post, writing that even the first test revealed that he wasn’t Penelope’s father. He said that with the outcome, he was happy that the rumors could be put to rest. However, in his post, Conor Maynard wrote:

“All I would ask is that people act with kindness in response to this news - there is a child at the heart of all of this and that should not be forgotten. I wish Charlotte and her family all the best.”

Why did Conor Maynard have to take the test for the second time?

As per reports, the British singer and Charlotte Chilton crossed paths at a party. After the test results of the first pregnancy test were revealed, Chilton wanted the test to be repeated, as she alleged that there was a third person accompanying Conor Maynard when the sample was collected.

According to Ladbible, a source said that Charlotte was taken aback by the results. For the past year and a half, she had been trying to make the truth known while also dealing with the challenges of being a first-time single mother.

They mentioned it was never about Conor Maynard being famous or having money. She only wanted Penelope to have her father’s name on official records. The result left her upset, and she was now thinking about what steps to take next. Speaking on This Morning in May 2025, Maynard said:

“I was instantly painted as a dead-beat dad. My comments on my social media were all about that. Mental health is something I have struggled with for a huge portion of my life. And this year has been up there with my battle with it.”

Chilton spoke to OK!, saying she struggled to reach out to the singer and break the news. Although she did not want to speak to him, she felt he must know it. She also mentioned that her daughter looked similar to Conor Maynard.

However, she explained that if her daughter chose to stay away from her father in the future, that would be her own choice when she was older.
