Stefon Diggs' legal showdown will wait until the Super Bowl. The Patriots' wideout's assault arraignment has been postponed from Jan. 23 to Feb. 13, according to TMZ.

As documented in the new court filings, the NFL star's attorney, David Meier, states that Stefon Diggs has a "previously-scheduled professional commitment" on that date; hence, the schedule was adjusted.

The postponement follows Stefon Diggs receiving felony strangulation and misdemeanor assault charges in late December 2025, which stemmed from an alleged physical altercation in Massachusetts with his personal chef, Mila Adams.

Reports revealed on Dec. 30 that the wide receiver slapped Adams and strangled her until "she had trouble breathing." The chef notified the police of the incident on Dec. 2, alleging that she and Stefon Diggs had been exchanging text messages about the money that the NFL star supposedly owed her.

Further, Adams, through the Dedham Police Department, claims that their confrontation turned violent when Stefon Diggs "entered her unlocked bedroom" at his home outside Boston.

"She alleges that the male then smacked her across the face."

The authorities went on:

"She said that he was behind her with his arm wrapped around her. She said that she did feel like she had trouble breathing and that she felt like she could have blacked out."

However, Stefon Diggs' legal camp denies the allegations. Meier, who described Mila Adams' accusations as "unsubstantiated," said in a statement:

"The timing and motivation for making the allegations is crystal clear: they are the direct result of an employee-employer financial dispute that was not resolved to the employee's satisfaction. Stefon looks forward to establishing the truth in a court of law."

It's not only Stefon Diggs' team, the Patriots, who have expressed their support. His girlfriend Cardi B, who is the mother of his new child, jumped to his defense amid his suffocation and assault charges.

In a now-deleted tweet on Jan. 5, the rapper posted a screenshot of an alleged text from Diggs' chef, who told her to contact the mediator. Cardi B captioned her post with a snarky message:

"Not once has that woman said anything to me about being touched.. NOT ONCE!! Earlier, the WAP hitmaker also defended Diggs from criticism after he reportedly spent his Christmas with his other children, sparking breakup speculations.

"I can't change. I can't change sh*t. I can't go back in time. All right, I'm saying I already had a baby. Y'all want me to put my baby back in my p***y, huh? I don't know what y'all want me to do. Y'all want me to leave my man and f**k yours? You want me to leave my man and just go and f**k yours? I don't know… what y'all want me to do? What y'all want me to do? We can only go forward now. So I don't know."

The Patriots star is currently the father of six children from his previous relationships.
