Kate Beckinsale, 51, has been in the spotlight for her significant weight loss. She recently shared her weight loss journey on social media. Us Weekly confirmed that she, as Page Six cited, posted her bikini pictures on Instagram on July 1, 2025. However, the photos were later removed from the platform.
While an Instagram user attempted to troll Beckinsale by commenting on her body and appearance, she responded by explaining the real reason behind her extreme weight loss.

According to her response, the Pearl Harbor actress has been encountering one of her life's "most deeply painful times."
Kate Beckinsale candidly opened up about her weight loss
Kate Beckinsale didn't shy away from addressing the changes in her body as her weight loss became more noticeable in her recent public appearances.
As Page Six confirmed, a user left an alleged comment under her deleted Instagram post, stating,
"Oh sweetheart, I honestly think you have a problem. You don’t look good. I think you honestly need help."
The Van Helsing actress replied to the troll, admitting a low phase in her personal life. She clarified,
"Yes I do. I’m going through one of the most deeply painful times of my life. The body keeps the score."
It appears that Beckinsale's comment, "The body keeps the score," has caught the attention of netizens.

According to the Page Six report, she may have referenced Bessel Van Der Kolk's book, titled "The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma."
Kate Beckinsale filed a case against Canary Black's producers
Interestingly, Kate Beckinsale uploaded the now-deleted Instagram post a few weeks after she lodged a complaint against the producers of the film Canary Black in the Los Angeles Supreme Court. As per Us Weekly, she alleged the producers of:
"negligence, battery and international infliction of emotional distress."
On June 11, Us Weekly obtained the official complaint lawsuit, which was submitted on May 21. As the outlet confirmed, the actress mentioned Anton Entertainment and producer John Zois in her statement.
Reflecting on the filming between 2022 and 2023, claims added to the legal filing also stated that,
"Kate was repeatedly exposed to unsafe and dangerous conditions."
Kate Beckinsale's complaint against the producers also alleged that she and her team,
"repeatedly raised red flags regarding unsafe conditions on and off set to Defendants, including long, dangerous set days, often lasting fifteen hours, inadequate equipment and medical personnel to help manage the high physical workload and recover from the exertion off set, and failure to adequately inform Ms. Beckinsale of what stunts she was expected to perform until often the moment she had to perform it."
The Independent detailed the complaint documents, which stated that Kate accused Anton Entertainment and John Zois of her suffering from a "complex meniscus tear in her left knee."
According to her claims, she had to continue filming for the project and perform stunts despite doctors' advice to avoid such activities. The injury also worsened during the process.

It also read that the actress sustained "severe and debilitating injuries, including significant trauma to her left knee."
The Underworld: Evolution actress blamed John Zois for avoiding her concerns. According to the lawsuit, she attempted to inform the producer of the severe conditions. She also added that she was told her scenes included real action stunts at the last minute, rather than using special effects.
As The Independent cited, Kate Beckinsale penned,
"Not really knowing what is coming up and performing it for the first time off guard, on camera and under a time crunch are just loading the dice for unnecessary injury."
She also insisted in her statement,
"Speaking last night to a few actors and actresses I know in my position, no one has ever been told something was green screen and found out day of a portion of it was practical... What I am suggesting is merely what has been absolutely standard on every movie I have appeared in before."
Shani Rosenzweig, Kate's agent, also attempted to contact the producer to inform him about the actress's deteriorating health. She detailed,
her client kept on "showing up to set for her call time and everyone around her has been made aware it’s going to be a 15-hour [or more] day except for her."
Slamming him for this pattern, she further continued,
"If you're trying to kill a person, you’re doing a great job."
Following the backlash, John Zois acknowledged the misconduct. He admitted to continuing to shoot the film in dangerous situations, saying,
"I don’t know what else to say other than you’re right. Bottom line, we need to shorten these days... The days are too packed for the pace we are moving and it’s CLEARLY not sustainable."
On June 19, an Anton Entertainment spokesperson released a statement on the ongoing legal case during a conversation with Screen Daily, as cited by Us Weekly.
Representing the company, the spokesperson noted,
"We follow strict safety standards on all our productions. We are reviewing these allegations, which we believe are meritless."
